  • Patent number: 4842461
Abstract: An anchoring bolt including an expansion sleeve and an expander member insertable into the sleeve to expand the latter. The anchoring bolt has an inner thread at the end which faces the end face of the wall of the supporting structure to which an object is to be fastened by the anchoring bolt. A removable spacer is inserted into the borehole of the supporting structure after the anchoring bolt and is engaged with the inner thread thereof so as to determine a distance between the end of the inserted anchoring bolt and the end face of the supporting structure. This distance corresponds to the distance that the expander member is to be drawn into the expansion sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4763396
Abstract: A method for preventing corrosion of an expandable mounting element which involves introducing a sealing composition into a mounting hole of a support structure first to fill the hole about half-way, then driving an expandable mounting element into the half-filled hole to displace the sealing composition initially against the base of the mounting hole and then up along the surface of the expandable mounting element until the excess emerges out of the mounting hole. A compressible impact device, which has an upper and lower part and a spring part fixed therebetween, is arranged so that an impact tool can be driven against the upper part to fully drive the expandable mounting element into the mounting hole, effecting a sealing compaction in correspondance with the pressure exerted by the spring part. All gaps and cracks are thereby sealed against corrosive media.

  • Patent number: 4760843
Abstract: A connector for osteosynthesis, especially for fastening bone fragments comprises a plug sleeve and a screw engageable in the plug sleeve, the plug sleeve being formed of a viscoplastic, tissue-compatible plastics and having a thread shape on its outer surface. The plug sleeve can be slightly expanded at its end facing the head of the screw and also expanded to a greater extent at its other end, so that simple assembly and firm clamping in the bone tissue is achieved. It is possible to monitor the position of the plug sleeve in the bone constantly during assembly on an X-ray screen in conjunction with a metallic screwdriver or a measuring scale provided on the screwdriver for screwing the sleeve into the bone.

  • Patent number: 4716893
Abstract: A fastener for anchoring in a bore in a bone has a screw extending along an axis and having a substantially cylindrical outer surface formed with a helical screwthread. The screw has at the screwthread a thread diameter and between the turns of the thread at the surface a root diameter smaller than the thread diameter. An anchor sleeve normally fitted in the bore and of an outside diameter corresponding generally to the diameter of the bore has an outer end formed with a laterally projecting rim normally lying against the bone around the bore, an outer end portion of an inside diameter greater than the root diameter but smaller than the thread diameter, and an inner end portion of an inside diameter smaller than the root diameter. Thus when the screw is threaded into the sleeve its thread cuts into the outer portion without substantially deforming and spreading same and into the inner portion with substantial outward deformation and spreading of same.

The injection nozzle is arranged on the plunger and the total length of the plunger and the injection nozzle corresponds at least to the depth of the inner space in the container. Around the injection nozzle is provided a sleeve which starts from the base of the plunger. The sleeve is filled with a further component of the fixing agent. The open end face of the sleeve is sealed by a cover having a frangible opening.

  • Patent number: 4648767
Abstract: A fastening element is insertable into a hole of a structure for fastening an object to the structure and has a shaft having a forward smaller cross-sectional thickness portion, an expandable sleeve fitted over the smaller shaft portion, a holding member for holding the object at the rear end of the shaft and an expanding member for expanding the sleeve at the forward end of the shaft. The expandable sleeve is resilient and elastically deformable radially, has an external diameter larger than the maximum thickness of the shaft and has an internal diameter larger than the cross-sectional thickness of the portion of the shaft over which it is fitted. When inserted, the expandable sleeve is secured elastically against the internal wall of the drilled hole and if a tensile force is applied, the sleeve is pressed against the internal wall by the expanding member.
