Certain embodiments are directed to methods for evaluating the prognosis of a cancer patient comprising contacting a breast cancer sample from a patient with stage II or stage III breast cancer with an antibody that binds phosphorylated tyrosine 36 of Ei¾?; quantifying phosphorylation of tyrosine 36 of EI¾?; and classifying the patient as having a good prognosis if phosphorylated tyrosine 36 levels are elevated or classifying the patient as having a poor prognosis if tyrosine levels are decreased relative to a non-cancer control. Certain embodiments are directed to an antibody or antibodies that specifically bind tyrosine 36 (Y36) of the ERp.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a clustering method based on iterations of neural networks, which comprises the following steps: step 1, initializing parameters of an extreme learning machine; step 2, randomly choosing samples of which number is equal to the number of clusters, each sample representing one cluster, forming an initial exemplar set and training the extreme learning machine; step 3, using current extreme learning machine to cluster samples, which generates a clustering result; step 4, choosing multiple samples from each cluster as exemplars for the cluster according to a rule; step 5, retraining the extreme learning machine by using the exemplars for each cluster obtained from step 4; and step 6, going back to step 3 to do iteration, otherwise obtaining and outputting clustering result until clustering result is steady or a maximal limit of the number of iterations is reached.

    Abstract: An automatic control apparatus for a carburetor choke valve includes a pull-rod, throttle control lever, choke block, and temperature control assembly which is arranged on a cylinder head through a bracket having a rotating shaft and coil spring. The rotating shaft is connected to the spring and one end of the pull-rod via a rotary arm. The other end of the pull-rod is located at a choke valve shaft. The block and valve shaft are connected to respective ends of the lever. During cold start, the block is opened driving the lever to pull the valve shaft. When rotated through a certain angle the valve shaft is blocked by part of the pull-rod, such that the valve and block cannot be fully opened. During warm start, the valve shaft when returning is blocked by another part of the pull-rod such that the valve cannot fully close.

    Abstract: In order to protect IMD layers, particularly low-k dielectrics, a protection film is formed on the sidewall of an opening in the IMD layers prior to etching a trench in the underlying silicon substrate. After etching the trench, such as through a TMAH wet etch, at least part of the protection film can be removed. The protection film can be removed in an anisotropic etch process such that a portion of the protection film remains as a sidewall spacer on the sidewall of the opening within the IMD layers.

In one aspect, a method includes: gathering data related to the user's mouse clicks; determining a respective number of times the user accessed each section of a plurality of sections of a webpage based on the gathered data; matching each section of the webpage with the respective number of times to establish correlations; and displaying the correlations. A visual mechanism and system for monitoring how users browse the webpage are also described. The disclosed technique will help determine the amount of time and attention a user spends on a particular webpage, and how these correspond to the content of the site. As a result, the user's level of attention to the webpage can be clearly displayed.

    Abstract: New porous shape memory materials with the use of different fabrication methods such as hot isostatic pressing technique are provided for biomedical and engineering applications. These new materials have a pseudoelasticity ranging from 0.1% to 50%. The mechanical properties of those materials can be adjusted from 1% to 10%. The pore distribution of these said materials is isotropic and homogenous, and their pore shapes can be tailor-made to be spherical or polygonal as avoiding stress concentration around the pores. The porosity and pore size can be controlled by fabrication process. These materials can exhibit superior pseudoelasticity and mechanical properties during testing than the other porous shape memory alloys fabricated by Self-propagating High-temperature Synthesis (SHS). These advance properties may apply to but not only limited to orthopaedic implants such as artificial bone graft, hip prosthesis and interverbal disc prosthesis; and also for engineering purpose such as damping devices.
