  • Publication number: 20080040439
Abstract: A mail transfer agent adapted for determining the disposition of incoming e-mail from a sender includes a penalty count filter module (20 which functions on the basis of current communication system resource usage, such as the number of concurrent TCP connections being maintained, and penalty counts assigned for cumulative undesirable sender activity such as sending large e-mail files. The penalty count filter module can operate in a selective-rejection state accepting e-mail from senders without a penalty count and randomly accepting other e-mail, and in a random-rejection state rejecting all e-mail from senders with a penalty count and randomly rejecting other e-mail. The rejection rates can be increased or decreased in response to a detected increase or decrease in the usage of system resources.

  • Patent number: 7325911
Abstract: An ink cartridge has an ink tank for reserving ink and a joint connected to the ink tank, the joint including an outer frame having an ink channel, and a sealing member made of an elastic material and received in the outer frame, the sealing member having a cylindrical portion and a valve portion. When an ink supply pipe having an ink inlet is inserted into the cylindrical portion, the cylindrical portion abuts against an outer circumference of the ink supply pipe on an ink flow downstream side of the ink supply pipe with respect to the ink inlet. The valve portion leaves the outer frame so as to open the ink channel when the ink supply pipe is inserted into the cylindrical portion, and when the ink supply pipe is not inserted into the cylindrical portion, the valve portion abuts against the outer frame to close the ink channel.

  • Publication number: 20070195196
Abstract: A video display device comprising a display to display a primary image, originating from a first input signal, and a picture-in-picture (PIP) overlaying the primary image and originating from a second input signal. The display characteristics of the PIP are changed in response to information, preferably a file extension, relating to the type of the first input signal in order to obscure as little as possible of the important parts of the primary image. In case the primary image contains much visual information the PIP is chosen small, positioned in the periphery of the display and/or transparent. In case the primary image contains little visual information the PIP is chosen large, centered and/or non-transparent. Useful for Integrated Digital TV cum Broadband TV (IDTV-BBTV) devices, where the primary image is a broadband image and the PIP is a TV image.

  • Patent number: 7247084
Abstract: An improvement is provided for a wafer carrier having an annular inflatable tube for exerting pressure on the edge of a perforated plate during wafer dechucking, and a flexible plastic tube for supplying pressure to the annular inflatable tube. The improvement comprises a fixed elbow fitting secured to said head assembly. The elbow fitting is secured to the head assembly in a predetermined orientation, said orientation being such that said flexible plastic tube will not be obstructed in its path between said fitting and the said inflatable tube and will not obstruct the bellows operation of said wafer carrier. A tool for assisting fitting the fixed orientation elbow fitting in the predetermined orientation. The tool has a planar or substantially planar rigid body with an aperture shaped to accommodate the elbow fitting in one predetermined orientation relative to the tool.

  • Patent number: 7228331
Abstract: A method and system for managing electronic mail (email) based on a user oriented penalty count (PC) random rejection. The invention determines a threshold for a specific user and assesses a cumulative PC for usage of a resource that exceeds the user specific threshold. Different operating states are determined based on a status associated with the resource. In a normal operating state, virtually all sent email is processed. In a selective-rejection state, sent email from a user with a cumulative PC is rejected randomly, while others are processed. In a random-rejection state, sent email from a user without a cumulative PC is randomly rejected based on a resource usage factor and an adjustment multiplier, while sent email from a user with a cumulative PC is completely rejected. The user may be assigned an exempt status that enables processing of virtually all email from the user independent of user's PC.

  • Publication number: 20070098212
Abstract: A two level cross-correlation based system for watermarking continuous digital media at the system application level. It is a post-compression process for watermarking where no a priori knowledge of the underlying compression algorithm is required. Per each compressed media frame, a current unique digital signature is generated based on the data from the current compressed frame plus the digital signature that has been previously generated. The signature thus generated is then used in conjunction with the next compressed frame to generate the next unique digital signature. All digital signatures are correlated according to the above process until a “reset” signal is issued. A new chain of correlated digital signatures is produced by the system with a pre-determined initial signature.
