  • Patent number: 7198351
Abstract: A head unit is inverted so that an outflow port is in the lowest position. Because the top wall of the buffer tank slopes downwards towards the outflow port, all remaining cleaning fluid that was introduced during manufacture is removed. Also, a notch is provided in the bottom end of an ink introduction port. The notch faces towards the outflow port so that bubbles in the ink exit from the notch and are guided towards the outflow port. The head unit is shipped while the buffer tank is filled with preservation fluid that has high wettability and any openings to the outside air are closed off with covers. When the head unit is used, the preservation fluid is sucked by a purging device and then ink, which has a high affinity for the preservation fluid, is smoothly introduced. Also, the inner surface of the filters are treated to increase the wettability by ink after the filters are fixed to the bottom lid. Afterwards the bottom lid is fixed to the top lid to form the buffer tank.

  • Publication number: 20070060031
Abstract: An improvement is provided for a TITAN HEAD wafer carrier having an annular inflatable tube for exerting pressure on the edge of a perforated plate during wafer dechucking, and a flexible plastic tube for supplying pressure to the annular inflatable tube. The improvement comprises a fixed elbow fitting secured to said head assembly. The elbow fitting is secured to the head assembly in a predetermined orientation, said orientation being such that said flexible plastic tube will not be obstructed in its path between said fitting and the said inflatable tube and will not obstruct the bellows operation of said wafer carrier. A tool for assisting fitting the fixed orientation elbow connector in the predetermined orientation. The tool has a planar or substantially planar rigid body with an aperture shaped to accommodate the elbow fitting in one predetermined orientation relative to the tool.

  • Publication number: 20060245138
Abstract: A perforated plate for use in a wafer-handling chuck has a pattern of through holes by which a vacuum is applied to a membrane to form suctions cups that secure a wafer to the chuck. Grooves in a generally planar upper surface of the plate interconnect the through holes. The grooves ensure the maintenance of the vacuum, and the consequent formation of the membrane suction cups, at each through hole, even when the grooved surface of the plate is in close face-to-face contact with another planar surface in the chuck. In one embodiment, the through holes in the perforated plate lie on concentric circles and the grooves interconnect radially-outward through holes to the next closest one or pair or radially-inward through holes.

  • Patent number: 7093710
Abstract: An ink-package assembly including an ink package fluid-tightly containing a mass of an ink, and a sealing wrapper fluid-tightly enclosing the ink package, wherein an interior space of the sealing wrapper is charged with an inert gas such as a helium gas, which has a lower degree of solubility in the ink, than the air. The interior space of the sealing wrapper is evacuated to a reduced pressure of ?20 kPa and ?60 kPa with respect to the atmospheric pressure, as needed. The ink package includes an ink bag and is provided with a spout having a passage, and a cap for closing the passage. Where the sealing wrapper is evacuated, the ink package preferably further includes an ink-bag casing accommodating the ink bag, and a reinforcing structure interposed between the casing and the ink bag, to prevent deformation of the ink bag. Also disclosed is a method of producing the ink-package assembly.

  • Publication number: 20060168014
Abstract: A method for providing a filtering service to a front-end processing daemon (FD) in a messaging system independently of the FD. A front-end filtering daemon (FFD) is configured to accept filtering requests from at least one FD through a front-end filtering client (FFC) residing the at each FD, and send back results after executing the requests. Pre-formatted requests and replies are employed between the FFC and the FD. Requests are classified in pre-defined categories and prioritized according to their category. The FFD may reside at another device and support a plug-in architecture enabling an administrator to modify a plurality of filtering plug-ins. Each plug-in may include at least one filtering function. A handler list maintained by the FFD is employed to sort incoming requests and direct to the appropriate plug-ins. Negative results from plug-ins are then reported to the FD as a rejection along with an error code.

  • Publication number: 20060031507
Abstract: A method and system for managing electronic mail (email) based on a user oriented penalty count (PC) random rejection. The invention determines a threshold for a specific user and assesses a cumulative PC for usage of a resource that exceeds the user specific threshold. Different operating states are determined based on a status associated with the resource. In a normal operating state, virtually all sent email is processed. In a selective-rejection state, sent email from a user with a cumulative PC is rejected randomly, while others are processed. In a random-rejection state, sent email from a user without a cumulative PC is randomly rejected based on a resource usage factor and an adjustment multiplier, while sent email from a user with a cumulative PC is completely rejected. The user may be assigned an exempt status that enables processing of virtually all email from the user independent of user's PC.

  • Publication number: 20050160160
Abstract: Methods and systems are directed to managing sessions between users and a plurality of management servers on a network appliance. A unified session manager authenticates a user requesting access to a network appliance. The unified session manager then establishes a brokering session with a management server associated with a component application. The unified session manager may translate graphical user interface (GUI) messages between the user and the management server, while the user is in session with the network appliance. This provides the user with a uniform interface for the plurality of management servers. In another embodiment, the unified session manager may modify network addresses between the user and the management server. In yet another embodiment, the unified session manager may make a program from the network appliance available to the user to download directly from the unified session manager.
