Abstract: A hydraulic expander for use in a tube containing a U-bend region is disclosed and claimed. The tool includes a sheath for transmitting hydraulic fluid therethrough to an inflatable bladder. The sheath is flexible, allowing it to be inserted through the U-bend region of the tube. The bladder is fluidly connected to the sheath and is thereby in fluid communication with a supply of hydraulic fluid. The length of the bladder and the metal end caps, along with the centering spacers on the expansion sheath, allows it to pass through the U-bend region of the tube such that it can be positioned inside the tube adjacent to a support outside the tube, such as an AVB. Hydraulic expansion of the bladder causes it to exert an outward force on the tube inner surface, causing it to plastically deform such that its outer surface comes into contact with the tube support, such as an AVB. This expansion will increase the friction between the tube and the AVB to minimize the risk of tube vibration damage.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for a detector system to detect gamma and neutron radiation. In one embodiment, a detector comprises a tank to hold a liquid, a plurality of tubes adjacent the tank to detect neutrons, and a plurality of photon detectors to detect Cherenkov light generated by gamma radiation in the liquid. The tank is configured to contain the liquid so that the liquid generates the Cherenkov light and moderates the neutrons.

Abstract: Methods and media are provided for quantifying viewer awareness of advertising images in a video source is provided. According to one embodiment, a media source is segmented into a set of frames, which are annotated with attributes based on the images that appear within each frame. The attribute data is analyzed to determine detections that meet provided criteria. The detections are indexed based on the attributes, which are then supplemented with additional attributes to create one or more valuation factors. The valuation factors can be used to derive a discount factor that can be applied against a benchmark, such as the 30-second spot rate, to determine a value associated with the video source.

Abstract: A network operator intermediates a cashless transaction by sending a payment device issuer an outbound clearing data file enriched with cleansed merchant data. Issuers that choose to participate in the merchant data cleansing service will be provided with the cleansed, and optionally augmented, merchant information. Providing this data to the issuer could be used to help reduce costs associated with “do not recognize” calls by cardholders, disputed charges, and charge-backs. With cleansed data provided in the clearing record, a device holder would be given access to this cleansed information about the merchant where a transaction took place through their statement. The present disclosure also provides for augmenting the clearing record data to include merchant-specific add-on and/or aggregate data not presently included in the transaction clearing record, yet useful to the issuer both in form and content.

Abstract: The disclosure is directed generally to an apparatus used to adjustably mount a fishing reel to the control end of a fishing rod. The fishing-reel-mounting apparatus is comprised of two main parts: (1) a rigid, light-weight, longitudinal track that is adapted to be securely and coupled to the standard reel-mounting region at the control end of a fishing rod, and (2) a sturdy, light-weight reel-carriage device that is adapted to be surely coupled at its top surface to the base of a fishing reel and is adapted to be slidably, adjustably, and lockably coupled at its lower surfaces to the longitudinal track. Among the key advantages of the fishing-reel-mounting apparatus is the ability for fishermen in the field to easily manipulate the balance of a fishing rod by allowing the adjustment of the longitudinal position of a fishing reel attached to a fishing rod.
