Abstract: Methods and apparatus for a detector system to detect gamma and neutron radiation. In one embodiment, a detector comprises a tank to hold a liquid, a plurality of tubes adjacent the tank to detect neutrons, and a plurality of photon detectors to detect Cherenkov light generated by gamma radiation in the liquid. The tank is configured to contain the liquid so that the liquid generates the Cherenkov light and moderates the neutrons.

Abstract: A melody based game system includes a controller, a computing unit, and a display. The controller has a limited number of programmable real keys configured to be manipulated by a player for playing one or more song segments and thereby providing game input. Each of the song segments includes one or more pitches and one or more of the programmable real keys are programmed to generate the one or more pitches comprised within each of the song segments, respectively. The computing unit communicates with the controller and includes a music application. The display is connected to the computing unit and is configured to display prompts for manipulating the one or more programmed real keys in coordination with playing of the one or more pitches of each of the song segments.

Abstract: The invention generally relates to a facility wide sorting and/or sequencing system for improving product processing operations and, more particularly, to a facility wide system and related functionality for simultaneously sorting and sequencing mixed mail pieces such as, for example, flats and letter mail pieces. The flats and letter mail pieces are placed in frames so that all types of mail pieces can be sorted and/or sequenced simultaneously through merging and diverting a stream of filled trays into and out of different streams at a full or substantially full transport speed.

Abstract: A latch assembly for connection of conduit, the assembly comprising a female portion and a male portion, wherein each of the female portion and the male portion have a shell and a connection device. The connection device of the female portion includes a connection assembly with a molded-in slot, a release button, and a raised rib or alternatively is a connection opening. The connection device of the male portion includes a cantilevered region with a ramped engagement feature or alternatively is a raised cantilevered release button. When connected the cantilevered region or button deflects to accommodate the female portion until the ramped engagement feature or button engages the molded-in slot or connection opening, thus releasing the deflection. Depressing the release button disengages the latch allowing separation of the assembly.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods and systems for using an impact-activated device for repelling sharks from marine geophysical survey equipment. An embodiment discloses a marine geophysical survey system, comprising: marine geophysical survey equipment configured to be located in a body of water when in operation; and an impact-activated device coupled to the marine geophysical equipment, wherein the impact-activated device comprises a circuit configured to release a shark repellent in response to a pre-determined impact on the impact-activated device.

Abstract: The present invention provides a communication and analysis system that can manage data operations with a vehicle centric system with a planned route path. A vehicle that is in a communications link with a network can also manage its activities based on real time, historical and predictive knowledge, without having this all knowledge processing on board. Such data processing would include a cluster analysis of geo-spatial, internal functions and operator specific requirements. The rule based system would also incorporate the use patterns of a specific vehicle, or a specific user. A vehicle operator or vehicle multiple operators could share or upload information that would assist with efficient data processing and display, including fuel conservation and time management. Cluster weighting patterns can be assigned based on activities as efficient operation, safe travel and navigation.

Abstract: A stackable chair having a back member may flex to allow for improved user comfort. An inline spring-to-frame configuration with a pair of spring members reinforced by steel plates on the top and bottom of each end of each spring is attached to the underside of the left and right members of the seat support frame. The spring-to-frame configuration may allow the back support frame to flex relative to the seat support frame.

Abstract: An easy lock and release mechanism for a safety seat retaining on a stroller frame and a base. A front confinement is mounted on the stroller frame, and has a spring-loaded latch retractively protruding from a rear wall of the front confinement for locking the safety seat. The safety seat has two anchoring slots, at least a downward holding slot and two latching elements. The downward holding slot has an orifice formed therein for engaging with the spring-loaded latch. The two anchoring slots may anchor to two transversal bars on the base and be locked by the two latching elements. The release mechanism is mounted on the safety seat, and has a release actuator associated with a pushing element and the two latching elements for pushing the spring-loaded latch away from the orifice and unlock the two latching elements.

Embodiments are provided wherein the patients are assigned to risk groups based upon the risk that taking the drug will lead to an adverse side effect, and certain additional information, such as periodic surveys and diagnostic tests probative of the ongoing risk of the side effect developing are obtained before prescriptions for the drug are approved.

Abstract: An electrical disconnect assembly with separate disconnecting device compartment, such that safety handle mechanism does not provide access to the disconnecting device or any energized parts or conductors consisting of multiple compartments arranged so as to allow service of the load compartment without exposure to line voltages. The assembly includes a plurality of compartments with the load compartment having a lockable handle operator that that is interlocked with its corresponding compartment door. The handle operators are mechanically connected to the disconnecting devices via flexible cables or mechanical linkage. A key feature/distinction of this invention is that the disconnecting devices is remote mounted from the overcurrent protective device, so that when the handle operator is switched to the OFF position there are no components (e.g. disconnecting device and/or its conductors) within the load compartment that remain energized by line voltage.

Providing this data to the issuer could be used to help reduce costs associated with “do not recognize” calls by cardholders, disputed charges, and charge-backs. With cleansed data provided in the clearing record, a device holder would be given access to this cleansed information about the merchant where a transaction took place through their statement. The present disclosure also provides for augmenting the clearing record data to include merchant-specific add-on and/or aggregate data not presently included in the transaction clearing record, yet useful to the issuer both in form and content.
