  • Patent number: 8041789
Abstract: A system comprises a first enclosure comprising a plurality of device bays and a first enclosure virtual connect device that is configured to virtualize one or more of the device bays in the first enclosure. The system also comprises a second enclosure comprising a plurality of device bays and a management server communicatively coupled to the first enclosure virtual connect device. At least one bay in the first enclosure has a device included therein. That device uses an associated profile that defines, at least in part, how that device is virtualized. The management server is configured to migrate the profile for use by a device in a bay of the second enclosure.

  • Publication number: 20110248077
Abstract: A dual-purpose file folder includes a main body with a bearing plate, upper/lower and left/right folded plates. A first mobile folded plate includes two first folding flanges, and a first insertion strip on the first folding flange. A second mobile folded plate includes two second folding flanges, and a second insertion strip on the second folding flange. A folding locating position includes folding insertion holes. A framing locating position includes framing insertion holes. When the strips on the folding flanges are inserted into the folding insertion holes, the folded plates of the main body can be covered onto the bearing plate in a folding state. Alternatively, when the insertion strips are inserted into framing insertion holes, the folded plates of the main body can be incorporated into a standing frame, thus forming a holding space with the bearing plate.

  • Patent number: 8032581
Abstract: Provided are a method, system, and article of manufacture, wherein a control unit receives a request to establish a relationship over a fiber channel connection, wherein a first indicator associated with the request indicates that the relationship supports persistent information unit pacing across a plurality of command chains. The control unit sends a response indicating an acceptance of the relationship, wherein a second indicator associated with the response indicates that the control unit supports persistent information unit pacing across the plurality of command chains. An information unit pacing parameter value is retained across the plurality of command chains, in response to determining that the second indicator indicates that the control unit supports persistent information unit pacing across the plurality of command chains.

  • Publication number: 20110196993
Abstract: An article of manufacture, apparatus, and a method for facilitating input/output (I/O) processing for an I/O operation at a host computer system configured for communication with a control unit. The method includes the host computer system obtaining a transport command word (TCW) for an I/O operation having both input and output data. The TCW specifies a location of the output data and a location for storing the input data. The host computer system forwards the I/O operation to the control unit for execution. The host computer system gathers the output data responsive to the location of the output data specified by the TCW, and then forwards the output data to the control unit for use in the execution of the I/O operation. The host computer system receives the input data from the control unit and stores the input data at the location specified by the TCW.

  • Patent number: 7972959
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention pertain to methods of forming features on a substrate using a self-aligned double patterning (SADP) process. A conformal layer of non-sacrificial material is formed over features of sacrificial structural material patterned near the optical resolution of a photolithography system using a high-resolution photomask. An anisotropic etch of the non-sacrificial layer leaves non-sacrificial ribs above a substrate. A gapfill layer deposited thereon may be etched or polished back to form alternating fill and non-sacrificial features. No hard mask is needed to form the non-sacrificial ribs, reducing the number of processing steps involved.

  • Publication number: 20110146928
Abstract: The specification discloses papers suitable for liquid electrophotographic printing (“LEP”) and a method for making such papers. According to the method, a papermaking furnish containing cellulosic fibers is formed into a fibrous web on a papermaking machine and at least partially dried. The web is then treated with a sizing composition comprising starch, an acrylic acid polymer, an organic material having an HLB value of from about 2 to about 14 such as a polyglycerol ester, and water. The treated web is dried and calendered to a final desired caliper. Since the sizing composition is an aqueous mixture, it may be applied to the web on-line during production of the paper on the papermaking machine, thereby avoiding the expense and inconvenience of conventional off-line methods used to make existing LEP papers. The resulting paper exhibits at least 80% and preferably above 90% toner adhesion as measured by the tape pull tests used for the assessment of papers printed by LEP.
