  • Patent number: 10427950
Abstract: Methods and compositions for improving performance of flocculants in an industrial production process. Methods include pH triggered cross-linking reaction between a flocculating agent, such as dextran, and a composition comprising a boronic acid-containing polymer. The pH trigger can be provided by a fluid having a pH of 8 or more. The production process can be a Bayer Process and the fluid is caustic liquor or slurry in the fluid circuit of the Bayer, wherein the reaction time is reduced over conventional methods and the cross-linked dextran composition effectuates improved flocculation of the trihydrate particles.

  • Publication number: 20190111040
Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, the immunoregulatory activity of low doses of P4N was investigated. Unlike previously described antitumor drugs, low dose P4N, in doses of about 1 to 10 mg/kg, or at concentrations of about 10 to 100 nM, was surprisingly found to contribute to humoral immunity by raising the titers and activities of autoantibodies against GRP78 and F1F0 ATP synthase on the surface of CT26 cells, and inducing B cell proliferation and differentiation of plasma cells. Methods for inducing endogenous antitumor autoantibodies (EAA) in a subject having a neoplasia comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of the nordihydroguaiaretic acid (NDGA) derivative P4N, or salts, solvates and stereoisomers thereof, as well as methods for inducing B cell proliferation, inducing BAFF stimulated B cell proliferation, and suppressing or inhibition growth of a neoplasia are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20190085159
Abstract: The present invention is directed to packaging laminates for containing a food or pharmaceutical/medical product which includes an exterior film, a multilayer interior film comprising a diisocyanate-scavenging layer and an adhesive-contact layer, and a polyurethane adhesive layer bonding the exterior film to the multilayer interior film. The present invention reduces the amount of any unreacted diisocyanate precursor and primary amines which can migrate to a product in packaging assemblies formed with a polyurethane adhesive. This is achieved when an interior film (commonly known as a sealant film) includes a layer comprising a non-polymeric polyol which is not in direct contact with the polyurethane adhesive. With this approach, the nonpolymeric polyol reacts with any residual diisocyanate and/or primary amines which migrates from the polyurethane adhesive through the laminated assembly and thus, neutralizes any potential undesirable effects of these compounds.

The present invention reduces the amount of any unreacted diisocyanate precursor and primary amines which can migrate to a product in packaging assemblies formed with a polyurethane adhesive. This is achieved when an interior film (commonly known as a sealant film) includes a layer comprising a polyether polyol which is not in direct contact with the polyurethane adhesive. With this approach, the polyether polyol reacts with any residua! diisocyanate and/or primary amines which migrates from the polyurethane adhesive through the laminated assembly and thus, neutralizes any potential undesirable effects of these compounds.

  • Publication number: 20180325342
Abstract: A cleaning device may include a solution tank configured to store cleaning solution. The device delivers the cleaning solution from a pump discharge of the cleaning device to a flow meter. The device initiates a priming mode by opening a first valve associated with a bypass line of the device, closing a second valve associated with a cleaning head of the cleaning device, and delivering the cleaning solution from a discharge of the flow meter to the inlet of the solution tank through the bypass line. When the device is primed, it initiates cleaning by closing the first valve associated with the bypass line, opening the second valve associated with the cleaning head, and delivering the cleaning solution to the cleaning head.

  • Patent number: 9747250
Abstract: A system for improving memory management in a hybrid programming environment where a server program receives a request to execute a script. The server program instructs an embedded script engine to execute the script. The server program creates a session manager to manage objects associated with the script. The objects are comprised of host objects that reside in a program memory space, and script objects that reside in an embedded script engine memory space. The session manager creates a session associated with the execution of the script, and associated objects created during the execution of the script. Upon receiving notification of completion and/or termination of the execution of the script, the server program requests invalidation and/or deletion of the objects associated with the session. Deletion of host objects immediately releases memory in the program memory space without waiting for the scheduled garbage collection.
