  • Publication number: 20150226149
Abstract: This disclosure provides system and method that can determine hydraulic start of injection (SOI) in engines using an in-cylinder pressure sensor. The system and method determine apparent heat release rate (AHRR) curve data for the cylinder from the pressure information provided by the in-cylinder pressure sensors, and the hydraulic SOI from the derivative of the AHRR curve data. The system and method provide diagnostic, control and/or compensation opportunities for fuel injector operation in high pressure fuel rail engine systems without use of expensive or complex fuel injector components.

  • Publication number: 20150219054
Abstract: A fuel injector has a plurality of injection fuel delivery passages, which transport fuel from a proximate end to an injector cavity near the distal end of the fuel injector, wherein less than a total number of injection fuel delivery passages include an orifice. This configuration provides a reduction in fueling variation from pulse to pulse (multi-pulse) with respect to pulse separation due to pressure variation while allowing a sufficient amount of fuel flow to the injector cavity. Thus, the consistency of Start-Of-Injection (SOI) and opening rate both improve significantly and advantageously. For compactness, the orifices may be positioned in a cover plate used to retain the components of the injection control valve assembly and may further be arranged in an arc segment when viewed along a longitudinal axis.

  • Patent number: 9084779
Abstract: Novel compounds which are derivatives of tetra-O-methyl nordihydroguaiaretic acid (NDGA), as well as pharmaceutically acceptable salts, solvates, and stereoisomers thereof are provided. These NDGA derivatives have a nitroimidazole moiety and these derivatives show preferential toxicity to hypoxic cells as hypoxic cytotoxins. Their cytotoxicity toward hypoxic cells is a result of abstraction of hydrogen from target molecules by free radicals formed in the reduction of the nitro group. This makes the disclosed compounds an effective anti cancer drug because hypoxic cells are generally considered to be more resistant to anti cancer drugs than normal cells. Pharmaceutical compositions comprising such compounds, as well as methods of use, and treatment for cancers, including hepatocellular carcinoma, breast cancer and prostate cancer, are also provided.

  • Patent number: 8929064
Abstract: A carrier includes main body, a conductive elastic element, and a handle. The main body is adapted to carrying an electronic device and has a cavity. The conductive elastic element is disposed in the cavity. The handle is pivotally coupled to the main body. When the handle locks the main body to be located in a lock position, the handle exerts force on the conductive elastic element such that the conductive elastic element protrudes outside the main body through the cavity. When the handle does not lock the main body and exert force on the conductive elastic element to be located at a release position, the conductive elastic element is located inside the main body where it does not interfere with an outside device. This allows convenient insertion and removal of the carrier relative to a cage. Accordingly, the conductive elastic element is not damaged easily.
