  • Publication number: 20120109752
Abstract: Systems and methods for creation, management and delivery of targeted marketing campaigns to a consumer based on a consumer's social check-in activity as identified by a consumer on one or more location based social networks. In one embodiment, a campaign management system receives information relating to a consumer's social check-in activity from various (heterogeneous) location based social networks in a wide variety of formats, and further normalizes such disparate information received into a standardized format. According to an aspect, the system processes the normalized information in conjunction with pre-stored marketing campaigns created by marketers for purposes of identifying consumers who satisfy one or more conditions specific to the pre-stored marketing campaigns. Campaign-related information corresponding to the pre-stored marketing campaigns generally comprise various promotional offers, discounts, coupons, etc.

  • Publication number: 20120077597
Abstract: An entertainment device is configured to receive a limited range wireless signal from at least one other entertainment device when adjacently arranged in close physical proximity to at least one other entertainment device, and to responsively operate in a first mode or a second mode based on whether the other entertainment device is adjacent a first side or second side. In the first mode, the entertainment device initiates one or more wireless activation signals to control an audio/visual element of another entertainment device. In the second mode, the entertainment device receives wireless activation signals from another entertainment device to control activation of an audio/visual element of the receiving entertainment device. Each device is interchangeable between operation in the first mode of controlling at least one other entertainment device and the second mode of being controlled by another entertainment device based on position of one entertainment device relative to the other.

  • Publication number: 20110282943
Abstract: Systems and methods for evaluating the effectiveness of social media pages. Users of social media systems review and publish various kinds of content on social media pages, including various messages, audio clips, video clips, polls, web links, etc. A social media page evaluation system hosted on a physical server or a cloud receives a social media page that is to be evaluated, and provides results of an evaluation process. The evaluation process involves processing of various criteria and parameters that characterize engagements and interactions between users of social media pages. Results of an evaluation process include qualitative and quantitative attributes in connection with evaluating the effectiveness of published content on social media pages. Such results are useful for purposes of enriching content in social media pages, resulting in greater network traffic due to increased engagements and interaction among users of social media pages.

  • Publication number: 20110261361
Abstract: An interferometer has its performance enhanced by being suspended in a housing that is optionally evacuated. The frame that supports the interferometer is secured to a cover for the housing with a plurality of studs having mechanical vibration isolators. The frame comprises a support flange with a foam layer beneath the interferometer. An optics tray is disposed above the interferometer and holds the assembly to the support flange. The fibers that are connected to the interferometer enter the side of the housing and the entry is sealed off to allow the interior of the housing to be evacuated.

  • Publication number: 20110213670
Abstract: Systems and methods for delivering application media content to multiple social media systems (SMSs) for display to SMS members. The method includes the steps of providing initial application media content to respective SMSs. Once a respective SMS member interacts with the initial content, a social relationship management system (SRMS) receives indication from an SMS of such interaction, and retrieves a unique application media file relating to application media content. The unique application media file is then applied to an application media container file that overcomes certain formatting protocols and requirements of the SMS and enables transmission and delivery of the application media content to the SMS. The application media content is then delivered to the SMS member on the SMS through the application media container file.

  • Publication number: 20110066164
Abstract: An apparatus for placement into an opening formed in a wall of a body lumen to deploy a closure element. The apparatus comprising a housing having a handle portion formed at a distal end, the handle portion configured to be engaged by a user when advancing the housing to deploy the closure element. A triggering element deploys the closure device and can at least be partially formed in the housing. A throw reducing mechanism can slide relative to the housing and reduce the distance a user must stretch a hand to move a triggering system within the housing. The housing can include, or be connected to, a handle member having one or more expansion members which expand to provide a stable base for manipulating the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7882469
Abstract: After finding the shortest conductive signal return-current path for each signal, the invention assesses whether each conductive return-current path is adequate. The method analyzes each shortest conductive signal return-current path and determines if a significant portion of the signal return current flows as displacement current rather than following the conductive current path. A significant displacement current flows when the length of the conductive return-current path that diverges from a signal net is more than a previously defined limit based on the signal transition time. Further, a significant displacement current flows when the overall length of the signal differs from the overall length of the conductive return-current path by more than a previously defined limit based on the signal transition time.

  • Publication number: 20100248355
Abstract: This invention provides methods and compositions for producing high titer, substantially purified preparations of recombinant adeno-associated virus (AAV) that can be used as vectors for gene delivery. At the onset of vector production, AAV producer cells of this invention typically comprise one or more AAV packaging genes, an AAV vector comprising a heterologous (i.e. non-AAV) transgene of interest, and a helper virus such as an adenovirus. The AAV vector preparations produced are generally replication incompetent but are capable of mediating delivery of a transgene of interest (such as a therapeutic gene) to any of a wide variety of tissues and cells. The AAV vector preparations produced according to this invention are also substantially free of helper virus as well as helper viral and cellular proteins and other contaminants. The invention described herein provides methods of producing rAAV particles by culturing producer cells under conditions, such as temperature and pH, that promote release of virus.

  • Patent number: 7751929
Abstract: A package handling system for use with a plurality of packages having package identification thereon. The system of one embodiment comprises processing stations where packages having heterogeneous contents are processed. One or more identifiers are positioned at the processing stations to detect the package identifications associated with the packages. A controller is coupled to the identifier and has access to first and second package data. The first package data related to an actual condition of the package, and the second package data related to acceptable package conditions. A labeler coupled to the controller is configured to apply a first label to the package if the first and second package data indicate that the package is in an acceptable condition or a second label if the first and second package data indicate that the package is in a condition requiring further processing.
