  • Publication number: 20110093791
Abstract: A method, system and apparatus for managing activity reuse in a collaborative environment. The method can include the step of creating a new activity instance based upon an existing activity instance. Specifically, the creating step can include the steps of selecting an activity template and creating the new activity instance based upon the selected activity template and/or selecting a portion of an existing activity instance and creating the new activity instance based upon the selected portion. In either case, the method further can include the step of applying changes to the selected portion of the existing activity instance to the new activity instance. Finally, the method can include the step of annotating the new activity instance to refine the new activity instance for reuse. For instance, the annotating step can include coordinating a collaborative annotation of the new activity instance as an activity-in-progress.

  • Patent number: 7620033
Abstract: Reduction of administrative overhead in maintaining network information, rapid convergence on an optimal routing path through the data network, and utilization of only required network resources are realized by a novel method for establishing a call path between network users. The method is based upon deployment of a network information server that stores network topology information and that is addressable by each end user. In this method, the network information server receives a request to establish a call path. The request identifies at least the calling party. In response to the request, the network information server determines a network traversal between the calling party and a root network wherein the network traversal includes call path information about the sub-networks between the calling party and the root network. The request for establishing a call path can also identify the called party.

  • Patent number: 7383196
Abstract: An active guidelines capability or component is linked to a computerized patient record system to integrate the use of clinical guidelines in the workflow of clinicians treating patients. Many healthcare institutions maintain sets of clinical guidelines describing recommended treatment or analysis options for patients displaying sets of symptoms or for whom certain diagnoses have been made. The active guidelines feature adds an active guidelines tag to such clinical guidelines so that when the clinician accesses the clinical guidelines and wishes to follow the recommendation, the clinician merely has to click on a hypertext created from the tag which then transmits action orders, also contained in the tag, to be transmitted to the computerized patient record system for implementation.

  • Publication number: 20080005685
Abstract: Interface mechanism for quickly accessing recently used artifacts in a computer desktop environment. The interface mechanism integrates across a multitude of tools available in a computer desktop environment to present a list of recently used computer artifacts that can be automatically sorted or filtered in useful ways. Examples of computer-based artifacts that the interface can present include objects that relate to people, events, URLs, email messages, attachments, shared objects or shared activities. Filtering and sorting operations enable the interface mechanism to provide a list of the computer artifacts in a manner that is useful to the user. Also, the interface mechanism permits to perform frequently desired operations beyond opening a file or application such as dragging and dropping items for copying and pasting into the user's current context.

  • Patent number: 7162722
Abstract: One embodiment of the invention provides a method for integrating a plurality of computer applications. The method includes receiving from a requestor a request of a target application. The request includes data identifying a target application and a target application service requested by the requestor. An abstraction layer receives the request. The method further includes using a Profile Manager in communication with the abstraction layer to receive data identifying the target application, to select a sack (a portable container for the request, e.g., a serialized object) and to select which of a plurality of sack content providers (SCPs) to use to interface with an appropriate element given the target application. The plurality of SCPs are in communication with the abstraction layer. The plurality of SCPs interface with a plurality of elements including at least a first application and at least a first hub.
