  • Patent number: 10502803
Abstract: Techniques, systems and apparatus are described for magnetic resonance imaging by modifying the shape/thickness of an excitation/inversion slab. For instance, the inversion slab can be shaped as a wedge to improve temporal signal-to-noise ratio (tSNR) of arterial spin labeling (ASL) experiments by matching the temporal bolus width with the inter-pulse spacing in different feeding arteries. The shape/thickness of the excitation/inversion slab across the X-Y plane can be modified by modulating the movement of the “on-resonance” plane in space by the combination of conventional slice-selective (SS) adiabatic fast passage (AFP) and additional in-plane gradient pulses. Using this method, a computer can generate different shapes of the excitation/inversion slab.

  • Publication number: 20190368866
Abstract: A method for registering an imaging detector to a surface projects and records a sequence having a first sparse pattern of lines followed by a second sparse pattern of lines. A first subset of positions receives lines from both first and second sparse patterns corresponding to a first label. A second subset of positions receives only lines from the first sparse pattern corresponding to a second label. A third subset of positions receives only lines from the second sparse pattern corresponding to a third label. The first, second, and third labels are decoded and each member element of the first, second, and third subsets of positions registered to the imaging detector according to the decoded labels. One or more dense patterns of lines positionally correlated with registered member elements of the decoded labels are projected and recorded. An image of the surface contour is formed according to the recorded pattern.

  • Patent number: 10484939
Abstract: According to one configuration, a shared wireless access node supports wireless access for multiple wireless network service providers. A mobile communication device receives notification of multiple wireless network service providers, each of which provides access to a remote network through the shared wireless access node. The notification includes connection information such as priority information assigned to the wireless network service providers. The priority information indicates an order in which to select amongst the multiple available wireless network service providers to access the remote network. Based at least in part on the priority information, the mobile communication device selects a wireless network service provider amongst the multiple wireless network service providers.

  • Publication number: 20190343377
Abstract: An apparatus for oral imaging has a light source energizable to generate a light frequency signal ranging from a minimum to a maximum frequency. An image acquisition apparatus scans the generated light frequency signal to successive positions on a sample surface and to combine a returned signal from each successive position with the generated light frequency signal. The image acquisition apparatus has a detector that obtains a beat frequency signal from the combined returned signal and the generated light frequency signal. A processor that is in signal communication with the detector generates a processed beat signal from the combined signals, wherein the processed beat signal is indicative of the distance from the tunable laser source to the sample surface at the corresponding position. A display is in signal communication with the processor and is energizable to display distance data according to the processed beat signal for each scanned position.

  • Patent number: 10462079
Abstract: Systems and techniques that provide context-aware badge display in online communities are disclosed. Badges are identified for display based on the contexts of the online interfaces in which the badges will be displayed. When the badges awarded to a user are to be displayed in a particular online interface, the online community of that online interface is identified and used to display appropriate badges. Badges awarded to the user in the particular online community of the online interface and one or more related online communities are displayed. The related communities are identified based on a hierarchy of communities that identifies relationships between the online communities. Badges can be displayed using different display rules that can be changed over time and vary for different online communities.

  • Publication number: 20190306773
Abstract: User equipment receives first connection priority information. In accordance with the first connection priority information, the mobile communication device establishes a first wireless communication link between the user equipment and a first wireless network to communicate first communications. A controller/management resource provides notification of second connection priority information to be used instead of the first connection priority information. In response to detecting a trigger event in which the user equipment is operated to communicate second communications, the user equipment uses the second connection priority information as a replacement to the first connection priority information to establish a second wireless communication link connecting the user equipment to the second network instead of the first network.

  • Patent number: 10425089
Abstract: A master/slave configuration of a frequency locked Loop (FLL) decouples the process, target voltage, temperature (PVT) tracking goals of locking the loop from adapting the clock frequency in response to voltage droops in the supply. A master oscillator circuit receives a regulated supply voltage and supplies a master oscillator signal. A control circuit supplies a master frequency control signal to control a frequency of the master oscillator signal to a target frequency. A slave oscillator circuit is coupled to a regulated supply voltage and a droopy supply voltage and supplies a slave oscillator signal having a frequency responsive to a slave frequency control signal that is based on the master frequency control signal. The frequency of the second oscillator signal is further responsive to a voltage change of the droopy supply voltage.
