  • Patent number: 8005904
Abstract: To provide a user with better experience of cooperation between an electronic business card processing program and a communication program when exchanging electronic business cards. Electronic business cards are stored in a DB server, which is one of storages for a communication program, as well as an electronic business card local file. Thus, even if a PC is a company's PC, for example, the electronic business cards can be viewed by accessing the DB server from another PC or the like outside an office. Further, the electronic business card processing program operates with the communication program as backend, however, the electronic business card processing program may not be installed on a PC in some cases. Even in such a case, the communication program alone can display received electronic business cards that are stored in the communication program local file on the screen of a display.

  • Patent number: 7900441
Abstract: The invention provides a NOx adsorber aftertreatment system for internal combustion engines which utilizes at least one precat operatively coupled to at least one NOx adsorber to aid in the regeneration of the NOx adsorber. Fuel is injected into a precat located upstream of a NOx absorber producing heat, H2O, and reductants such as CO, HC, and volatile hydrocarbons, which are input into the NOx absorber. The combination of heat, water, and reductants help to efficiently regenerate the NOx Adsorber which in turn releases exhausts products such as CO2 and N2. Regeneration of a NOx adsorber can be performed during periods of reduced exhaust gas flow lowering the fuel penalty associated with NOx adsorber regeneration. The pre-cat, NOx adsorber regenerating aftertreatment system of the present invention may be used with any suitable control system.

  • Patent number: 7890455
Abstract: A system and method to ensure a low-latency read of log records from a Database Management System (“DBMS”) in asynchronous log-based database replication capture from a blocking log read Application Programming Interface (“API”). The system may include a replication server with a log read module to initialize a log read thread. The reading module of the log read thread may read a predefined number of DBMS log records. A log flush module of the log flush thread may be executed by the log read thread and waits for a read complete notification. The update module, in response to a log flush thread time out, may also generate a plurality of loggable transactions such that a number of log records in an internal API log satisfies a DBMS threshold and unblocks the DBMS API. Therefore, the latency time may be constant, low, and predictable ensuring an accurate replication capture.

  • Publication number: 20110008446
Abstract: A drug delivery method for effective drug application is disclosed in this invention. In this method, a micro-carrier delivers an encapsulated, desired drug directly to targeted sites without significant interactions with other components in the biological system in the pathway. In one embodiment, a micro-carrier containing encapsulated drug is first delivered to the general area for treatment. It then scans the area and selectively attaches itself the cell site or organ location to be treated. Finally, the desired drug contained in the micro-carrier is released to the attached cell or organ. In another embodiment, a micro-device is first used to process the general area to be treated to enhance differentiation in properties (such as surface charge) between healthy cells and unhealthy cells (such as cancer cells). Drug encapsulated in the micro-carrier is next applied to preferentially attach onto the targeted sites (such as cancer cell sites) to be treated.

  • Publication number: 20100057923
Abstract: Described is a technology in a network load balancing system (node cluster), by which client affinity is preserved across cluster configuration changes, including for new connections from a previous client. Each node maintains a list of the clients that are to remain (have affinity, or “stickiness”) with that node, including following bucket redistribution resulting from convergence. Each affinity list is communicated during convergence so that other nodes may build an exception list or lists. Via a node's exception list, the node that owns a bucket corresponding to a client knows of the affinity with another node and thus drops any packets from that client. Affinity may expire, whereby the node having affinity with that client releases it and notifies the node owning the bucket for that client that the client is no longer to be treated as an exception.
