Abstract: Disclosed is an electronic device and method for controlling a display in response to a user input. The electronic device includes a communication interface, a memory configured to store a table related to a graphic object, a display, and a processor which obtains a user input, transmits motion information corresponding to the user input to an external electronic device using the communication interface, obtains image information corresponding to the motion information and screen information of the external electronic device from the external electronic device, determines the graphic object based on the image information, and displays the graphic object and the screen information together.

Another party's video data is displayed on a first area of a display unit, a user's video data is displayed on a second area of the display unit, and a plurality of emoticons is displayed on a third area of the display unit in a video telephony communication. One of the plurality of emoticons is selected during the video telephony communication from a user input. The selected emoticon is displayed on the first area or on the second area and transmitting the selected emoticon to another party.

Character data are added to the text message if the data are general character data. The above steps are repeated and recipient information for the character text message is input when the character text message has been created. Abstract: An image enhancement method and system are provided. The image enhancement method and system are capable of improving image quality by performing gamma corrections on global and local illuminations and reflectance estimated from an input image, in consideration of dynamic range and contrast of the image, respectively. Particularly, in a case of a color image, the red, green, and blue (RGB) component images are converted into hue, saturation, and value (HSV) component images, and the global and local illuminations and reflectance estimated from the V component image. By converting the hue (H), saturation (S), and enhanced value (V) into RGB, an enhanced color image can be obtained.
