Abstract: A quick-release connector structure for an air tank includes a connector body incorporated with an air tank and a seat block. The seat block is secured to the air tank and comprises a valve having a post extending forwardly. The valve is acting as a switch to turn the air tank on and off. The connector body comprises a first passage and a second passage. The first passage comprises an air release hole and a through hole. A thimble is disposed in the first passage. A quick-release wrench is provided in a recess disposed on the connector body. The quick-release wrench corresponds to the through hole and is secured by a fastener. By turning the quick-release wrench, the high-pressure air remaining in the pipe is released.

Abstract: A strained germanium field effect transistor (FET) and method of making the same, comprise forming a germanium layer on a substrate, then forming a Si protective layer on the germanium layer, next forming a gate insulation layer on the Si protective layer, and fmally positioning a gate on the gate insulation layer. The germanium layer is used as a carrier transport channel of the strained germanium FET to improve the drive current and the carrier mobility, and to increase the devices performance effectively. And because the Si protective layer is on the germanium layer, the interface property between the germanium layer and the gate insulation layer is improved.

Abstract: A keypad device including a parallel/serial conversion device, a keypad module, and a controller coupled to the parallel/serial conversion device and the keypad module. The keys in the keypad module are arranged in parallel. After the key is triggered, an interrupt signal will be fed to the controller. On receiving the interrupt signal, the controller will feed a drive voltage to the keypad module generating a parallel signal therein. After causing the parallel/serial conversion device to read and store the parallel signal, the controller will be able to read the parallel signal serially by using the clock signals. The status of the keypad module can thereby be obtained.

Abstract: An isolating circuit of transmitting and receiving paths in the same frequency carrier comprises a directional coupler, a phase adjuster, and a mixer. The directional coupler couples a transmitting signal on the transmitting path to the phase adjuster. There is a 90-degree phase difference between an output signal of the phase adjuster and the transmitting signal. The mixer shifts the output signal of the phase adjuster by a 90-degrees phase. Due to poor isolation, a leakage signal is leaked from a transmitting path to a receiving path. The leakage signal is mixed with an output signal of the mixer on the receiving path, and the two signals cancel each other.

Abstract: A paintball gun is to directly shoot a paintball by using pressurized air to avoid the fast movement of a hammer protruding from a barrel from hurting the hand of a user. A low-pressure regulator is turned to block a port of the barrel to prevent the pressurized air from entering into the barrel to avoid hurting people by accidentally pulling the trigger.

Abstract: A control valve for high pressure fluid includes a valve seat, a valve, a trigger, a washer and an elastic element. The valve seat comprises a chamber, an input channel, an output channel and a pressure release channel. All of the channels are interconnected to the chamber, respectively. The valve, the washer and the elastic element are located within the chamber. The elastic element is constantly urging the valve towards the trigger and against the washer to block the input channel from interconnecting with the output channel, while the output channel and the pressure release channel are interconnected with each other. When the trigger pushes the valve away from the washer, it blocks the pressure release channel and interconnects the input channel and the output channel.

Abstract: A pressure control device for a paintball gun incorporated with a gun body, a pressure pipe, a high-pressure tank includes a pressure switch connected to a connecting block of the gun body. The pressure switch comprises a block having an inhaling hole and an exhaling hole at respective ends. The inhaling hole of the block is connected with one end of the pressure pipe. The other end of the pressure pipe is connected with the high-pressure tank. The pressure switch is sleeved with a sliding block. The sliding block has a circular ring along its inner wall to guide the inhaling hole and the exhaling hole of the block. When rotating a ring of the pressure switch, the sliding block will move relative to the ring to block the high-pressure air from passing through. Thus, the paintball gun is protected from triggering accidentally to hurt people.

Abstract: A method of fabricating a barrier layer is described. A material layer having an opening formed therein is provided. Then, the material layer is disposed inside a physical vapor deposition chamber and a first deposition process is performed to form a first barrier layer on the surface of the opening. The first deposition process includes turning on a plasma source and turning off the plasma source. The turning on of the plasma source and the turning off of the plasma source are separated from each other by an interval less than 2 seconds. Thereafter, the first deposition process is repeated several times to form a second barrier layer comprising a plurality of first barrier layers.

Abstract: A pressure regulator for a paint ball gun includes a cylinder, a piston unit, an elastic member, a top connector and a switch bolt. The cylinder includes upper and lower chambers. The piston unit includes a ring plate and a tube. The ring tube is disposed in the upper chamber. The tube inserts through the separation plate. The tube has a closed lower end and is provided with a side hole near the lower end. The switch bolt is provided with a cylindrical opening in the upper section. The piston unit and the elastic member are accommodated in the cylinder. The top connector is fastened to the upper chamber. The elastic member holds against the ring plate and the separation plate. The switch bolt is fastened to the lower chamber. The tube slides into the cylindrical opening.

Abstract: A multi-carrier communication system is disclosed. The multi-carrier communication system includes a transmitting module for generating a first time-domain signal by performing an inversed Fourier transform upon a transmitting data; a receiving module for receiving a second time-domain signal and for generating a decoded data by performing a Fourier transform upon the second time-domain signal; and an echo cancellation unit, coupled to the transmitting module and the receiving module, for generating a reconstructed data according to a plurality of computing coefficients, the decoded data, and the transmit data, and for adjusting the computing coefficients according to the reconstructed data.

Abstract: An air intake control device for a paint gun utilizes an electromagnet to control air current. The electromagnet comprises a spindle having a circular trough thereon. A diverter bushing is formed at one end of the electromagnet. The diverter bushing comprises a transverse through hole corresponding to the spindle, a first air hole, a second air hole and an air outlet longitudinally interconnected with the transverse through hole. The transverse through hole receives a spring therein to divert air current when the spindle is activated.

Abstract: A mobile banking and anti-theft tag based portable checkout terminal, checkout system and checkout method for a retail environment are disclosed. A portable terminal accessory is designed for a portable terminal to acquire the article information related to the selected article that a customer in a retail environment wishes to purchase. The portable terminal is connected to the portable terminal accessory to receive the article information via scanning a tag attached to the article and to conduct the checkout processing with a customers bank through wireless communication.

Abstract: A wireless LAN camera having digital signal boosting function and the system processing module thereof are proposed. The wireless LAN camera comprises a wireless LAN interface module, a system processing module, and an image sensor. The system processing module comprises a microprocessor connected to the wireless LAN interface module. The microprocessor manages scheduling and execution of all functional operations, and is used to modify parameters of an external package received by the wireless LAN interface module and then transfer it out via the wireless LAN interface module. An image processing interface connected to the microprocessor provides connection with the image sensor for processing an image signal inputted by the image sensor. The image signal is sent to the microprocessor for processing and then converted into an image package sent out via the wireless LAN interface module.

Abstract: A method for power management of a smart phone. The method comprises steps of resetting the smart phone, searching for network service, operating the mobile phone system in standby mode and a PDA system in normal mode when connected to a network, switching the mobile phone system to connection mode when establishing communication with a remote terminal, switching the mobile phone system to sleep mode when the mobile phone system has been idle for a first time period, switching the PDA system to sleep mode when the PDA system has been idle for a second time period, and implementing power detection to switch the mobile phone and PDA system to off mode when the detected power is lower than a first and second threshold respectively.

Abstract: A storage structure and method having multiple protocol processor units are disclosed. The storage structure comprises a host CPU, a main memory, a storage device, a switch fabric, and a host bus adapter module. The host bus adapter module includes a plurality of protocol processor nodes for processing frames received from a network, and storing those frames into the storage device. A processing module of the host bus adapter module extracts the session information of each frame and compares it with entries recorded in a look-up table. If the connection information hits one entry of the look-up table, the frame can be bypassed into a corresponding protocol processor node according to the definition of the look-up table. Otherwise, a new entry will be inserted into the look-up table for designating a corresponding protocol processor node.

Ions are implanted into a silicon-containing substrate and high temperature processing converts the vicinity of the ion-contained region into strained-silicon. Transistors fabricated by the method are also provided.

Abstract: An integrated multimedia microcomputer device comprises a system-on-a-chip including a general purpose processor, a audio processor and an video processor. The general purpose processor is used to process an operation system and a plurality of application programs. The integrated multimedia microcomputer device also comprises a memory for storage of data, a audio/video output interface connected with the audio processor and the video processor for output of processed audio and video data respectively. The general purpose processor is also connected with a storage medium interface and several connection interfaces for electric connection with memory media and external electronic devices. The general purpose processor can perform signal transmission and communication with these electronic devices through execution of the application programs to accomplish the effects of multiple choices, convenient expansion of devices and audio/video playback.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display panel having a display area comprises a first substrate, a second substrate, a sealant, a liquid crystal layer, and a light-shielding layer. The sealant is disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The liquid crystal layer is disposed in a space defined by the first substrate, the second substrate and the sealant. The light shielding layer is disposed on a first outer surface of the first substrate or a second outer surface of the second substrate, wherein the light shielding layer and the display area are not overlapped. In addition, the liquid crystal display panel further comprises a protection layer. Since the protection layer encapsulates the light-shielding layer, out-diffusion of dye within the light-shielding layer is effectively prevented.
