  • Patent number: 6238160
Abstract: An electrically conductive workpiece such as a semiconductor wafer or the like is transported between a staging area and an electrostatic chuck within a processing chamber using an electrostatic arm. The arm is used to apply an electrical charge to the wafer and to hold the wafer during transport by means of an electrostatic force of attraction between the arm and the wafer. The arm also pre-charges the wafer in preparation to be electrostatically chucked within the processing chamber. Pre-charging the wafer eliminates the need for using a gas plasma within the chamber for chucking and dechucking the wafer.

  • Patent number: 6185085
Abstract: An electrostatic arm transports a semiconductor wafer between a staging area and a processing chamber and also electrically charges the wafer in order to eliminate the need for using gas plasma in the chamber to chuck and dechuck the wafer. The arm includes a pair of electrically conductive members coupled with an electrical power supply which respectively control the polarity of the charge applied to the wafer and create an electrostatic force which holds the wafer on the arm without the need for mechanical clamping. One of the members comprises a plate spaced from the face of the wafer by an air gap, and when charged with a polarity opposite that of the wafer, creates an electrostatic attraction force which holds the wafer the carrier. A controller is used to selectively reverse the polarity of charge on the plate so as to create an electrostatic repulsion force which positively releases the wafer from the carrier.

  • Patent number: 5979441
Abstract: The present invention is to offer an improved structure of draining mechanism for soft nose protrusion type diving mask, which essentially comprises a valve flap seat with a plurality of through holes, is directly and integrally jointed at the bottom of a nose protrusion body of a soft liner frame when moulding the said frame of the diving mask and provided with an one-way valve flap; based on the integral structure of valve flap seat and nose protrusion body, when operating "balancing pressure" to tightly pinch the nose protrusion body, no gap will be formed between the valve flap seat and the nose protrusion body to effectively prevent infiltration water; and a bent flow-guiding device moulded integrally with and beneath the nose protrusion body and extended to the two sides of diving mask can drain and guide flow so as to prevent the exhausted bubbles from affecting the diver's visibility.

  • Patent number: 5901392
Abstract: A constant-pressure waterbed is provided, which can provide a constant air pressure to a sole air-pressure frame that surrounds a water-filled mattress so as to allow the water in the water-filled mattress to be always suitably compressed to provide the desired level of softness. The air-pressure frame is used to apply an air pressure of a preselected limit level to the water-filled mattress. The constant-pressure waterbed utilizes a drainage valve to drain excessive air in the event that the air pressure in the air-pressure frame is above a preselected limit level so as to maintain the air pressure at the preselected limit level. Moreover, the constant-pressure waterbed utilizes an air pump which can pump air into the air-pressure frame when the air pressure in the air-pressure frame is below the preselected limit level. The air pressure in the air-pressure frame can therefore always be maintained at the desired level so as to allow the water-filled mattress to always provide the desired level of softness.

  • Patent number: 5749127
Abstract: An easily adjustable fastening belt for holding a dive knife including a belt and a male and a female fastening means separately connected to two ends of the belt. A length of the belt near the end having the female fastening means connected thereto is provided at an inner surface with a plurality of teeth. The female fastening means is provided at a body-facing side with a leaf spring member and at an outer side with a pivotally connected cover plate. The leaf spring has one end always pressing against a force-applying end of the cover plate, such that another end or a resistance end of the cover plate shall normally press against the toothed belt, so that the end of the belt with the female fastening means can only be pulled forward to tighten the belt around a wearer's leg.

  • Patent number: 5561624
Abstract: A ROM array with coding after metallization comprises a plurality of first bit lines, a plurality of second bit lines, a plurality of third bit lines, a plurality of word lines, a plurality of first control lines, a plurality of second control lines and a plurality of selecting lines. Memory cells of the ROM array are formed by the intersection of the word lines and the first and second bit lines, wherein the word lines are polysilicon gates and the bit lines are drain/source diffusion regions. The third bit lines are metal lines above the first bit lines. The third bit lines are not wide enough to cover spacings between the first and second bit lines, thus exposing spaces for code implantation. The first and second control lines intersect the first and second bit lines to form a number of switches for controlling data reading paths to The memory cells. The positions and ON/OFF states of the switches are designed to provide at least two data reading paths to each memory cell.
