Abstract: A logic circuit uses hardware to process keyboard scanning, more especially, a microprocessing system inputs the signal through a pressed key into a control circuit for conducting operation; since the column input end has electric resistance with higher driving ability than that of the row output/input end, a higher electric potential status is thereby obtained and conducted with the circuit through a pressed key to make the high and the lower electric potentials approach in accordance with each other and generate electric potential change, or through a converting method of automatically driving electric potential, the innovative effect of the present invention is achieved.

Abstract: A method of overcurrent protection for multi-slot flash memory card reader mainly includes integrating overcurrent protection circuit and power-supply circuit for the multiple slots of the card reader into one single control chip; and, when the overcurrent protection circuit detects an overcurrent at a particular slot, cutting off power supply to that particular slot of the card reader and enabling an overcurrent state register, so that a signal is provided to firmware in the control chip to display an icon of the card reader on a computer as a state indicating an abnormal condition. Whereby, the card reader and a flash memory card inserted therein, or other apparatus connected thereto would not be damaged when an overcurrent occurs, and a user may clearly know the exact point on the card reader where the overcurrent occurs.

Abstract: A method for automatically regulating an oscillator is applicable to a low-speed USB interface connecting system and includes the steps of (a) providing a voltage-controlled oscillator in a USB interface for generating a controllable oscillating signal to a USB electronic device; (b) feeding back the controllable oscillating signal to a frequency comparing unit for comparing the controllable oscillating signal with a Keep Alive Strobe signal in the USB interface; (c) inputting an output signal of the frequency comparing unit to a frequency regulating unit for changing the frequency of the controllable oscillating signal according to a signal regulating voltage fed back from the frequency comparing unit; and (d) repeating (b) and (c) to synchronize the controllable oscillating signal with the Keep Alive Strobe signal in the USB interface; so that the USB interface connecting system and the USB electronic device may be quickly synchronized for data transmission at reduced cost.

Abstract: A method of data transmission for transmitting data between a host and a consumptive electronic apparatus without USB interface via an interconnecting interface that has an end being a USB for connecting to the host. The method includes the steps of generating an instruction by the host; sending the instruction to the consumptive electronic apparatus without USB interface via the interconnecting interface; and verifying the instruction at the consumptive electronic apparatus without USB interface and then executing any movement requested by the instruction, and feeding back a signal of executing result to the host. Therefore, a consumptive electronic apparatus without USB interface may be connected to a host for data transmission at reduced cost.

Abstract: A portable data storage device mainly includes a universal serial bus (USB) connector; a volatile memory for reading, writing, and storing data; a control chip connected between the USB connector and the volatile memory for serving as a transmission interface with an external electronic apparatus; a charging battery for providing power needed by the volatile memory to store data; and a battery charging circuit connected between the USB connector and the charging battery for charging the charging battery, so that the portable data storage device has increased data processing speed and may be produced at lowered cost.

Abstract: A digital sound file playback reproducer includes a housing in which at least a connection port, a sound source output unit, and a processing unit are provided. The connection port is adapted to connect with an external recording medium having sound filed stored thereon. The processing unit picks up and processes the sound files in the externally connected recording medium, and sends the processed sound files to the sound source output unit. Since the digital sound file playback reproducer does not include an internal memory, a consumer of existing recording media, such as memory cards and USB flash disks, could buy it without wasting money in repeated memory.

Abstract: A portable data storage device allowing dynamic setting of disk type thereof includes a flash memory that includes at least two segments preset as a CD-ROM segment and a fixed type hard drive segment. When the portable data storage device is plugged in a processing unit of an electronic apparatus, one of the two segments having a non-applicable disk type is hidden depending on an operating system under which the processing unit operates, so that the processing unit may detect only another one of the two segments that has an applicable disk type. A method for dynamically setting an applicable disk type of the portable data storage device is also provided.

Abstract: A portable data storage device is characterized in having an internal file and a start program separately pre-recorded in predetermined segments on a flash memory of the device, an encryption mechanism for protecting the device against arbitrary access, and auto-execution ability like a compact disk. With these arrangements, it is ensured the start program is automatically executed without any user operation to play the internal file each time the portable data storage device is used. And, the internal file is effectively protected from deletion, unauthorized copy, or theft.
