  • Publication number: 20040205366
Abstract: A method for avoiding data loss in a PDA. The PDA has a RAM, a battery, a central processing unit (CPU), and a nonvolatile accessible memory. The nonvolatile accessible memory has a predetermined region, and the RAM stores user information including global operating system settings. User information is backed up into the predetermined region when remaining power of the battery is lower than a default value. Further, user information from the predetermined region is restored to the RAM when system power is recovered.

  • Publication number: 20040126701
Abstract: A fluorescent dye, a structure of a fluorescent storage media and method using thereof, are disclosed. The fluorescent dye of the present invention comprises an organic violet fluorescent compound having a chemical structure (I) is suitable for using a short wavelength laser having a wavelength less than 500 nm as an excitation source. When a short wavelength laser is used for exciting the organic violet fluorescent compound (I), a fluorescence having an emission wavelength larger than 500 nm is induced, and a reading signal can be provided by detecting the intensity of the fluorescence radiation.

  • Publication number: 20040123257
Abstract: Each of a method for determining a parasitic capacitance and an apparatus for determining the parasitic capacitance provides for an experimental correlation within a parasitic capacitance model of a series of conductor layer nominal dimensions and spacings with a process related deviation to provide a series of conductor layer actual dimensions and spacings. The method and the apparatus further provide for determining the parasitic capacitance while employing the conductor layer actual dimensions and spacings. The parasitic capacitance is thus determined with enhanced accuracy.

  • Publication number: 20040085950
Abstract: The specification discloses a fluorescent multi-layer recording medium containing porphyrin and the method for manufacturing it. The porphyrin is used to make the recording layer of the fluorescent multi-layer recording medium. A laser beam with a wavelength smaller than 500 nm is used as the light source. When a short-wavelength laser excites the recording layer containing porphyrin, it instantaneously emits red fluorescent light with a wavelength greater than 600 nm. A device can read data signals by detecting the intensity of such fluorescence.

  • Patent number: 6421748
Abstract: The inventive system and method simulate the actions of a selected output device driver, and then record all the request and information for the document output. The quality and size of the document output are optimized according to the properties of the selected output device driver and supported resources before it is sent to the selected remote output device. When the document output data is sent to the remote site, it is restored and converted to a format acceptable by the selected output device driver for outputting a document of desired format and quality. The inventive method and system for the universal output driver facilitate the operations of network outputting so that a local host does not have to install the driver of the selected driver. Moreover, the invention can optimize the document output in accordance to the properties of the selected output device, thereby to ensure the quality of the document output and increase the transmission speed.
