  • Patent number: 6805600
Abstract: A method for manufacturing white light source includes the steps of providing an ultra-violet light as radiation source; and preparing two kinds of phosphors each receiving the ultra-violet light and emitting light of different wavelength. One phosphor is designated to emit light covering two wavelength regimes of three primitive colors, i.e., red light (585-640 nm), green light (500-570 nm) and blue light (430-490 nm), and another phosphor is designated to emit light covering remaining wavelength regime of the three primitive colors. The phosphors are mixed in predetermined ratio such that the lights of different wavelength are combined to provide a white light.

  • Publication number: 20040130264
Abstract: A fluorescent material with formula(YxMyCez)Al5O12, where x+y=3, x, y≠0, 0<z<0.5, M is selected from the group consisting of Tb, Lu, and Yb. The fluorescent material has a host (YxMy)Al5O12 and an activator: Ce. By changing the composition of metals in the host, the crystal field thereof can be modulated, thereby altering the interaction force between the activator and the other components, and changing the wavelength of emitted colors. The present invention provides a white light-emitting device comprising a light emitting diode and above-mentioned fluorescent powder. The LED emits purple-blue or blue light having a domination wavelength AD range from 430 nm to 500 nm. The fluorescent powder is excited by the purple-blue or blue light emitted from the LED to generate green-yellow light to orange-yellow light having a wavelength range from 560 nm to 590 nm and mixed with the light of LED to form white light.

  • Patent number: 6290545
Abstract: An insert for a cigarette lighter socket includes a body and a contact rejuvenation tip protruding from and non-rotatable relative to the body. The contact rejuvenation tip includes abrasive elements on its surface for contacting an electrical contact in a cigarette lighter socket. In a preferred embodiment, the abrasive elements are pyramidal in shape and situated on an end surface of the contact rejuvenation tip. The abrasive elements scrape off electrically insulating material on an electrical contact in a cigarette lighter socket as the contact rejuvenation tip is rotated relative to the contact in the cigarette lighter socket. The insert includes a flexible strip attached to the body for resiliently centering a part of said body and said contact rejuvenation tip within said cigarette lighter socket.

  • Patent number: 4645371
Abstract: Improvements in a joint mechanism in which a resilient leaf spring is mounted at its tail end on a first joint member at a location adjacent one side of a locking piece engageable in notches formed in the circumferential edge of a hollow locking disk of a second joint member and its free front end being provided with a bent portion good enough to retain the front end of the locking piece. While the locking piece is being lifted up from the associated notch upon operation of an operating lever provided on the first joint member, the bent portion at the front end of the resilient leaf spring automatically swiftly moves under its own elasticity into the front end of the locking piece to lock it from engaging again in the notch thereby permitting a change in the angular position of the joint to be made.

  • Patent number: 4577986
Abstract: A joint mechanism comprised of two pivotally connected joint members rotatable about a common axis is lockable in one of a series of predetermined positions by engagement of a spring-biased pawl provided within one joint member within notches distributed about the peripheral edge of the other joint member. An operating lever comprised of a forked release element and a handle pivotally connected together cooperates with a control means to control locking and unlocking of the joint mechanism. The control means has radially extending resilient arms formed at the free end with upturned claws which, when projecting through slits formed in one side of the other joint member, prevents engagement of the pawl within said notches, and which, when being depressed into said slits by the release element of the operating lever, permits engagement of the pawl within the notches.

  • Patent number: 4543006
Abstract: Improvements in a foldable multi-position ladder joint in which one side of the locking disk of the second joint member is provided between each notch thereof and the common axial bolt with cams capable of one-way rotation under the driving action of the release element of the operating lever. The other end of the cam shaft returns the cam to its normal position upon pivoting movement of a ratchet hooked with a tension spring. Swinging of the operating lever in disengaging the locking pawl from a notch concomitantly moves the corresponding cam to rotate thereby making way for the release element to pass over and subsequent turning of the cam back to its normal position. Release of the release element is however prevented making possible the closing of the notch in achieving directly the purpose of whether or not the pawl is to be engaged in the notch.References are given here to applicant's prior U.S. applications with Ser. Nos. 532,096 and 543,445 with filing dates Sept. 14, 1983 and Oct.

  • Patent number: 4540306
Abstract: A joint having two joint members which are pivotable with respect to each other about a common axis is lockable in a series of predetermined angular positions by engaging a spring-biased pawl provided within one member in notches formed at the peripheral edge of the other member. In manually operating the joint, the forked release element and the handle pivotably connected with each other act as an operating lever in cooperation with the clawed, spring-loaded control means in controlling locking and unlocking of the joint. The claw like stop portion of the control means, when being pushed to one side within the slot having its length at least twice longer than the width of the notch by the release element in counter-clockwise direction, permits engagement of the pawl in the notches and, upon operation of the handle thereby disengaging the pawl from the notches, returns to rest position under its spring force in clockwise direction.
