Abstract: A method for zooming in content displayed on a touch screen comprises detecting the touch track of a touch on the touch screen and determining whether the touch track encloses a graphic. A current display mode of the touch screen when the touch track does enclose a graphic is identified and the content within the bounds of the enclosed graphic according to the current display mode of the touch screen is magnified. An electronic device using the above method is also provided.

Abstract: A method for transmitting data via multi-channel communications is provided. The method comprises following steps: providing transmission modes to be selected and determining transmission channels and transmission modules corresponding to the selected transmission modes; splitting a piece of data to be transmitted to a number of data segments, the number of the data segments being same to a number of the determined transmission channels; labeling a sequence number to each data segment; distributing the labeled data segments to determined transmission modules correspondingly; and transmitting the labeled data segments via the corresponding determined transmission channels. A system and a transmission device for transmitting data via multi-channel communications are also disclosed.

Abstract: A method for offering services according to facial expressions is provided. The method has an electronic device storing a service database recording at least one user's information. The method activates an offering service function; captures facial expressions of the user; extracting the features of the facial expressions; compares the extracted features with the features in images of the facial expressions stored in the service database, so as to identify a corresponding feature stored in the service database, and determines the type of expression and the service corresponding thereto from images of the user stored in the service database; and activates and provides the determined service. An electronic device using the method is also provided.

Abstract: A handwriting input recognizing method comprises following steps. Recognize an initial touch point of a touch. Determine an input region associated with the initial touch point. Display the input region. Recognize and display a handwritten input in the input region. Determine whether there is a handwritten input reaches the boundary of the input region. If yes, recognize and display the letters associated with the handwritten input and determine whether the input region receives another handwritten input during a predefined time duration. If yes, determine the sting of letters associated with the handwritten input is a first portion of a complete word, and the sting of letters associated with the another handwritten input is a last portion of the complete word. Combine the first portion and the last portion into a complete word. display letters of the first portion and the last portion in a substantially same size.

Abstract: A method for navigation is provided. The method includes the following steps. Generate a search request in response to manual operations and transmit the search request to a server. Receive a search result list including register users transmitted by the server. Select one or more register users in response to user selection operations. Generate a route inquire message and transmit the message to the server. Receive one or more replies, which transmitted by the electronic device of the selected register user and relayed by the server and display the one or more replies. An electronic device and a system for navigation are also provided.

Abstract: A method for importing an email onto an editing interface of an electronic device includes the following steps. Firstly, create a new notepad page comprising an editing interface when a notepad application is activated. Secondly, receive user input signals. Thirdly, determine whether a user input operation requires the import of an email onto the editing interface of the new notepad page and select an email stored in an email box in response to an email selection operation and further directly import the selected email onto the editing interface of the new notepad page for editing and personalization. And then delivery the edited document as an outbound email. A related electronic device is also provided.

Abstract: An exemplary method for quickly sending an email includes, firstly, generating operation signals in response to a shape drawn on a touch screen of an electronic device by a user. Next, the shape is identified, according to the received operation signals. Then one or more recipients' email addresses associated with the predefined shape are acquired when it is determined that the identified shape is similar to one of predefined shapes. Lastly, an email is sent to the acquired recipients' email addresses. An electronic device implementing the method is also provided.

Abstract: A method for transition between sequential pages displayed by an electronic device which runs a slideshow presentation application program such as Microsoft® PowerPoint. The method includes the steps as follows. Generate input signals from a user tracing a simple shape with his fingertip on the screen. Identify the traced shape. The type of transition display property which is associated with the predefined shape is acquired when the traced and identified shape is substantially similar to a predefined shape stored in the storage unit. The transition to next displayed page is displayed with the acquired type of display transition property. A related electronic device is also provided.

Abstract: An apparatus for processing handwriting on a touch screen includes a touch display screen, a display control unit, a touch analyzing unit, and a processing unit. The touch analyzing unit determines coordinates of touches. The processing unit generates a prompt including a first operating point when touch coordinates are on the boundary of a word inputting box. When the coordinates of a touch position are on the first operating point, the processing unit reduces a size of a handwritten letters and displays the handwritten letters with reduced size, reduces the additional handwritten letters, and displays the additional handwritten letters with the reduced size in the display box at the end of the handwritten letters. A related method is also provided.

Abstract: A method for unlocking a locked operating system of an electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a storage unit and a locking unit, the storage unit is configured for storing a preset password and preset unlocking request information. The method includes steps: receiving a message from a second electronic device; verifying the received message according to the preset unlocking request information; and sending the preset password to the second electronic device if the verification is successful.

Abstract: A page zooming method for an electronic device includes, firstly, generating operation signals in response to a touch operation applied on a page displayed on a touch screen of the electronic device. Secondly, one touch operation is determined to be a zoom-triggering gesture when a duration of time of pressing the touch screen on one touching point is longer than a first preset duration of time. Thirdly, one slide operation is identified according to the operation signals generated by the touch screen in response to the slide operation. Next, a zooming type and a zooming ratio are determined according to the zoom-triggering gesture and the slide operation. Lastly, the page is zoomed according to the zooming type and zooming ratio. An electronic device using the page zooming method is also provided.

Abstract: A control apparatus capable of controlling a TV interface communicates with a TV and a remote control apparatus. The control apparatus includes a communicating unit, a storage unit, and a control unit. When the communicating unit receives a wireless signal carrying information of a selected executable program transmitted by the remote control apparatus, the control unit obtains an executable program from the storage unit according to the information carried by the wireless signal and generates a first control signal and a second control signal. The remote control apparatus provides a remote control interface corresponding to the selected executable program in response to the first control signal. The TV executes the selected executable program and provides an operation interface corresponding to the selected executable program in response to the second signal. A related method is also provided.

Abstract: A system capable of changing TV programs includes a TV set and a remote control apparatus. The remote control apparatus includes a first user information obtaining unit mounted outside of the remote control apparatus. The TV set includes a database, a user information processing unit, and a control unit. The database pre-stores a first table recording relationships between a plurality of user information and a plurality of preferable TV programs corresponding to each of the plurality of user information. The control unit determines the preferable TV programs of the determined user information according to the first table stored in the database, and controls the display unit to display the determined preferable TV programs. The control unit controls the display screen to only display the target picture if a ratio of the distance to the width is equal to or greater than a predetermined ratio, and controls the display screen to only redisplay the current picture if a time duration of a slide gesture from beginning to ending is smaller than a predetermined time period. The touch display control unit determines a character in response to a character operation by an input device, and a height and a width of an imaginary rectangle sized to fittingly encircle the character. The calculating unit enlarges the height of the imaginary rectangle by adding a given value to the height of the imaginary rectangle if the height of the imaginary rectangle is smaller than a predetermined value. The processing unit resizes the character displayed within the enlarged imaginary rectangle by a first scaling factor. The touch display control unit controls the touch display unit to display the resized character in one of rows of a character display portion provided by the touch display unit. A related method is also described.

Abstract: A page zooming method for an electronic device having a touch screen includes the following steps. Display an image on the touch screen. Generate operation signals in response to a user's touch operation applied on the touch screen when the touch screen displays the image. Determine a touch region of the touch operation, so as to determine the touch operation as a type of an image zooming gesture according to the determined touch region, and the type of the image zooming gesture is selected from a group consisting of a zooming in gesture and a zooming out gesture. Create a zoomed image according to the displayed image, a predetermined zooming ratio and the determined type of the image zooming gesture. And display the zoomed image on the touch screen. An electronic device using the image zooming method is also provided.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a storage unit, a touch input unit, a display unit, and a processor. The storage unit stores a relationship table recording a mapping relationship between touch inputs and a number of commands associated with the touch inputs. The touch input unit generates signals in response to user's touch input. The processor includes a control module and an identification module. The control module controls displaying the sensed handwritten content on the display unit. The identification module recognizes the touch input of the sensed handwritten content and identifies if the touch input of the recognized handwritten content is associated with a command according to the signals and the relationship table. The control module also controls the electronic device to execute the associated command.
