  • Publication number: 20120300468
Abstract: In a variable shaped lamp shade of an LED lamp, the lamp shade is made of a translucent material matched with an LED lamp strip and a lamp holder and includes at least one strip-shaped optical refraction unit having an external refractive surface, an internal refractive surface corresponding to the external refractive surface, and an assembling structure for matching the lamp holder. The external refractive surface or internal refractive surface is a curved surface without an inflection point and the curved surface has a constant or gradually changing curvature; and a non-curved surface is formed on the other side. The variable shaped lamp overcomes the problems of conventional LED lamp strips having a low illumination and a non-uniform illumination caused by a direct projection or an installation of a conventional lamp shade, and a low light utility caused by a too-large illumination range.

Abstract: An LED module assembling structure includes an LED module, at least one connection seat and a conductive connection member. The LED module includes a circuit board and at least one light-emitting diode. The connection seat is soldered on the circuit board. The connection seat has two sidewalls defining a holding trough having an opening. The sidewalls are respectively formed with two corresponding recesses and two corresponding latch protrusion sections protruding from the sidewalls into the holding trough. The latch protrusion sections are positioned above the recesses near the opening. The conductive connection member is a bar-shaped conductor. At least one end of the conductive connection member is inserted in the holding trough of the connection seat and fixedly held between the recesses in the holding trough. Accordingly, multiple LED modules can be assembled and electrically connected with each other via the conductive connection member and the connection seats.

  • Publication number: 20120098599
Abstract: An enhancement mode (E-mode) HEMT is provided that can be used for analog and digital applications. In a specific embodiment, the HEMT can be an AlN/GaN HEMT. The subject E-mode device can be applied to high power, high voltage, high temperature applications, including but not limited to telecommunications, switches, hybrid electric vehicles, power flow control and remote sensing. According to an embodiment of the present invention, E-mode devices can be fabricated by performing an oxygen plasma treatment with respect to the gate area of the HEMT. The oxygen plasma treatment can be, for example, an O2 plasma treatment. In addition, the threshold voltage of the E-mode HEMT can be controlled by adjusting the oxygen plasma exposure time. By using a masking layer protecting regions for depletion mode (D-mode) devices, D-mode and E-mode devices can be fabricated on a same chip.

  • Publication number: 20120096423
Abstract: A method for designing an LED driver circuit is disclosed, wherein the LED driver circuit serves to drive an LED circuit. The method includes the steps of: providing an LED driver circuit; calculating a design voltage and a design current; designing an actual driving voltage; designing a voltage output end voltage; and designing an actual driving current. The LED driver circuit includes a power source IC and a current-limiting resistor. The current-limiting resistor is electrically connected between a voltage output end and a voltage-regulating end of the power source IC. The actual driving current is designed by calculating the actual driving voltage and the voltage output end voltage according to the design voltage and by calculating the resistance value of the current-limiting resistor according to the design current. With the disclosed method, the design of an LED driver circuit capable of a stable and constant current can be rapidly completed.

  • Publication number: 20100066268
Abstract: An LED light source module and a constant-current unit structure for use therewith are provided. The LED light source module includes a constant-current unit and an LED set. The constant-current unit includes a voltage stabilizing unit and a resistor. The resistor is parallel-connected between two output ends of the voltage stabilizing unit. An input end of the constant-current unit receives DC voltage, and one of the output ends of the constant-current unit outputs constant current. The LED set is electrically connected to the output end of the constant-current unit to receive constant current therefrom so as for the LED set to be powered-on. Regardless of fluctuation in the DC voltage received, the constant-current unit outputs stable constant current, and the LED set emits light steadily, thereby protecting the LED set against overcurrent-induced damage.
