  • Patent number: 5272099
Abstract: The method of forming an integrated circuit field effect transistor having a gate electrode, source and drain elements with buried contacts to a silicon substrate. A gate silicon oxide layer is formed on the silicon substrate. An in-situ doped layer of polysilicon is formed over the gate silicon oxide layer. An opening is formed in the doped polysilicon layer and the silicon oxide layer to the silicon substrate at the location of the buried contacts. A layer of undoped polysilicon is deposited over the doped polysilicon layer and in the opening to the silicon substrate. Doping by ion implantation of the undoped polysilicon layer is done to form a doped polysilicon gate electrode/buried contact layer. The polysilicon gate electrode/buried contact layer is patterning and etching to form the gate electrode of said transistor and buried contact layer. The source and drain regions are implanted using said polysilicon gate electrode pattern as a mask.

  • Patent number: 5270564
Abstract: A molded case circuit breaker includes an interlock which prevents the operating handle from being placed in the off position after the main contacts have been welded together. By preventing the operating handle from being placed in an off position during such a condition, the operating handle will indicate the correct status of the main contacts and the operator will be made aware that the main contacts are welded together.

  • Patent number: 5268741
Abstract: An optical coherence-domain reflectometry system provides an interferometer driven by a broadband incoherent light source with the device under test connected to one arm of the interferometer and a movable scanning mirror in the other arm providing a reference signal. The mirror moves at a controlled velocity to produce a Doppler shift in the reference signal frequency. The interference signal is detected and measured by a receiver. In the case where the receiver is a polarization diversity receiver, an intensity modulator and a polarization controller are incorporated into the reflectometer for use in calibrating the receiver. Calibration is also provided for a single photodetector receiver.

  • Patent number: 5266514
Abstract: A new method to produce a microminiturized capacitor having a roughened surface electrode is achieved. The method involves depositing a first polycrystalline or amorphous silicon layer over a suitable insulating base. The silicon layer is either in situ heavily, uniformly doped or deposited undoped and thereafter heavily doped by ion implantation followed by heating. The structure is annealed at above about 875.degree. C. to render any amorphous silicon polycrystalline and to adjust the crystal grain size of the layer. The polysilicon surface is no subjected to a solution of phosphoric acid at a temperature of above about 140.degree. C. to partially etch the surface and cause the uniformly roughened surface. A capacitor dielectric layer is deposited thereover. The capacitor structure is completed by depositing a second thin polycrystalline silicon layer over the capacitor dielectric layer.

  • Patent number: 5262259
Abstract: An electrographic imaging process is described in which electrostatic images are toned in sequence to form a multicolor intermediate image on a temporary dielectric receptor. The intermediate image is then transferred to a permanent receptor. Certain relative properties of the toner and the intermediate image, such as surface energy, T.sub.g, work of adhesion, and complex dynamic viscosity, have been found to be important to the production of good final images.

  • Patent number: 5259405
Abstract: A barette for clipping hair made entirely from metal stampings comprises an elongate arcuate first clamp member and second clamp member. The first clamp member has a folded section formed on either end thereof by folding over the terminal end portions of the sheet metal blank from which the member is formed. As embossed raised portion formed centrally on each folded section defines a receiving space therein for a hinge insert and locking insert. A pair of elongate extensions formed on the hinge insert enable pivotable attachment to a corresponding end of the second clamp member, and a pair of elastic extensions on the locking insert enable releasable securement with a hasp provided on the opposing end of the second clamp member. Retaining appendages formed on the base of both the hinge insert and locking insert engage corresponding mating surfaces provided on their respective folded sections to fixedly secure the inserts in the receiving spaces after sliding insertion therein.
