  • Patent number: 8715012
Abstract: A receptacle block defines one or more sockets at which plugs may be received. Each socket contains a first set of contacts and a second set of contacts. Each socket also includes a sensing contact that interacts with the second set of contacts to close an electrical switch. For example, the sensing contact can interact with an arm extending from one of the contacts of the second set. Closure of the switch can be detected and interpreted to indicate that a plug has been received at the respective socket.

  • Publication number: 20140065436
Abstract: An extruded workpiece for use as raw material stock in machining is described. The material is extruded through a die that includes a section to form a clamping region, said clamping regions sized and shaped to fit the clamp of a vise used to hold parts during machining. Another embodiment describes the die used to make the workpiece and another embodiment describes a process for using the die and the work piece to generate a finished part.

  • Publication number: 20140011382
Abstract: A receptacle block defines at least one socket at which a plug connector may be received. First contact members extend into each socket to receive a primary signal from a plug connector. Second contact members extend into one or more of the sockets to read physical layer information from any plug connector inserted into the socket. A sensing contact is positioned to electrically connect to one of the second contact members when a plug connector is inserted into the respective socket. At least a portion of the sensing contact is flexible to follow the movement of the one second contact member. In certain implementations, the second contact members have resilient sections that are identical to each other.
