  • Publication number: 20120239167
Abstract: A system and method for coordinating advanced process control and real-time optimization of a manufacturing process are provided. The system and method receive process data and economic data corresponding to the manufacturing process to be controlled and optimized. Based on the process data, the economic data and a nonlinear steady-state model of the process, an economic objective function is calculated by a real-time optimization module. A reduced-order non-linear approximation of the economic objective function is thereafter calculated by the real-time optimization module and transmitted to an advanced process control module. The advanced process control module utilizes the reduced-order non-linear approximation of the economic objective function to control the manufacturing process towards the constrained economic optimum.

  • Patent number: 8054835
Abstract: Method and apparatuses for directing multicast traffic in an Ethernet network include sending a multicast message upstream to a metro access node, performing IGMP snooping at the metro access node and assigning a multicast VLAN tag to the multicast message, performing IGMP snooping at an Ethernet switch disposed upstream to determine each port used for a corresponding multicast group address and multicast VLAN tag associated with the multicast group address, receiving the multicast message at an access server or edge router and sending the multicast message including the multicast group address and the multicast VLAN tag, downstream to a port based on that information, thereby avoiding duplication of the multicast message to another port other than the port associated with the multicast VLAN tag.

  • Publication number: 20100189274
Abstract: A method is provided which is suitable to cope with non-linear echo paths during acoustic echo cancellation in speakerphones. Non-linear paths occur particularly in hands-free operation of, e.g., a mobile phone, due to driving the amplifier and loudspeaker in the non-linear range. The idea is to combine the commonly known one microphone approach of linear acoustic echo cancellation using an adaptive filter and a post-processor together with a multiple microphone approach using beam forming which separately removes the non-linear part of the echo.

  • Patent number: 7764799
Abstract: A system (1) is described which is suited for suppressing audio distortion. The system comprises echo cancelling means (g1, g2) coupled between an audio output (4) and a distorted desired audio sensing microphone array (3), and a filter arrangement (7) coupled to the echo cancelling means (g1, g2) and/or the microphone array (3). The filter arrangement (7) includes filter coefficients representing at least a part of the audio distortion, such as reverberation. The system also comprises an at least partly mirrored circuit arrangement (g?, 7?) for copying thereby simulated audio distortion representative filter coefficient values into the filter coefficients of said filter arrangement (7). Such copied values can be then used for suppressing reverberation in a distorted desired signal by the filter arrangement (7).

  • Patent number: 7602926
Abstract: An audio enhancement system (1) for speech recognition or voice control is described, comprising a signal input for carrying a distorted desired signal (z), a reference signal input, and a spectral processor (SP) coupled to both signal inputs for processing the distorted desired signal (z) by means of a reference signal (x) acting as an estimate for the distortion of the desired signal. The spectral processor (SP) is equipped for said processing such that a factor C? is determined, whereby said estimate is a function of the factor C? times the spectral power of the reference signal (x), and the factor C is determined as the spectral ratio between those components of the signals z and x, which are essentially stationary with time. Such a factor determined by stationary parts of those signals makes application of a critical speech detector in the audio enhancement system superfluous.

  • Patent number: 7362774
Abstract: The present invention relates to a Label distribution method for distributing a label between a first Multi-protocol Label Switching (MPLS) network element and a second peering MPLS network element in an MPLS network. The first MPLS network element adds an unused label to the first data-packet DP1 of the at least one data-packet of the single flow before forwarding the at least one data-packet of the single flow, the unused label not yet associated with or used for identifying a context of said single flow. The second MPLS network element subsequently determines a context for the unknown label retrieved from the data-packets, using a predetermined algorithm. The second MPLS element then couples the unused label and the context determined using the predetermined algorithm.

  • Patent number: 7260482
Abstract: A method for characterizing a suspension with particles floating therein, which method comprises the steps of generating an acoustic actuation signal and registering an acoustic reflected signal. Further, a first dataset is calculated on the basis of the reflected signal, the dataset containing information which represents an autocorrelation function as a function of time of the reflected signal. Thereupon, first datasets are combined into a second, cumulated dataset, which represents a sum of the autocorrelation functions which correspond with the first datasets. Finally, a representation of a particle size distribution is determined by solving this representation from an expression for the second, cumulated dataset in terms of the representation of a particle size distribution.
