  • Patent number: 6870933
Abstract: An audio signal processing device is described for deriving auxiliary audio signals, such as audio direction sensing signals or a center audio signal from first and second audio signals through first and second filter paths, each of which comprises a first adaptive filter, and a first summing means is provided for coupled to the first adaptive filters for providing a summed audio signal at its summing output. Each filter path further comprises a second adaptive filter coupled to said summing output, whose respective adaptive filter coefficients are transferred to the first adaptive filters and are adapted in response to respective comparisons of the first and second audio signals with filtered sums of the first and second audio signals. Therewith correlated and uncorrelated parts of the input audio signals are processed effectively.

  • Patent number: 6865256
Abstract: The invention concerns a time domain reflectometry method for estimating properties of a transmission channel, for instance a channel for transmitting electric or acoustic signals. This method includes the steps of generating, at one end of the channel, a plurality of pulses (40, 42, 44) covering differency frequency bands, and processing the echoes provided by these pulses at the same end of the channel. The frequency bands of the generated pulses are preferably overlapping. The invention is particularly applicable to the testing of ADSL services.

  • Publication number: 20040133700
Abstract: The present invention relates to a Label distribution method for distributing a label between a first Multiprotocol Label Switching network element and a second peering Multiprotocol Label Switching network element in a Multiprotocol Label Switching network. Such a label identifies the context of datapackets of a single flow, these datapackets being forwarded from the first Multiprotocol Label Switching network elements towards the second peering Multiprotocol Label Switching network element. The first Multiprotocol Label Switching network element adds an unused label to the first datapacket DP1 of the at least one datapacket of the single flow before the step of forwarding the at least one datapacket of the single flow. The second Multiprotocol Label Switching network element, subsequently retrieves from at least the first datapacket of of said single flow a context from higher layer information included in at least a first Multiprotocol Label Switching data-packet.

  • Publication number: 20030123453
Abstract: Method and apparatuses for directing multicast traffic in an Ethernet network include sending a multicast message upstream to a metro access node, performing IGMP snooping at the metro access node and assigning a multicast VLAN tag to the multicast message, performing IGMP snooping at an Ethernet switch disposed upstream to determine each port used for a corresponding multicast group address and multicast VLAN tag associated with the multicast group address, receiving the multicast message at an access server or edge router and sending the multicast message including the multicast group address and the multicast VLAN tag, downstream to a port based on that information, thereby avoiding duplication of the multicast message to another port other than the port associated with the multicast VLAN tag.

  • Patent number: 6486639
Abstract: The generator includes an asynchronous machine with a wound rotor driven mechanically and a stator connected to the network. The rotor is excited by a constant DC voltage source via an inverter controlled by a pulse width modulation control circuit. In accordance with the invention, the following are generated: a stator frequency set point, a rotor frequency set point which is a function of the stator frequency set point and the rotation speed of the machine, an rms stator voltage set point, an error signal which is a function of the difference between the rms stator voltage set point and the actual rms stator voltage. A rotor voltage set point is imposed on the control circuit which is a function of the error signal and the rotor frequency set point.

  • Patent number: 6385964
Abstract: A thrust reverser for a turbojet engine is provided with at least one displaceable assembly including a displaceable cowling portion and a flap. The displaceable cowling portion and the flap each subtend stationary upstream and downstream cowling portions such that the displaceable cowling portion forms a portion of the external engine cowling covering a reverse thrust opening and the flap forms a portion of the outer boundary of the gas flow in a forward thrust position. In a reverse thrust position, the reverse thrust opening is uncovered, and the displaceable cowling portion and the flap are displaced downstream such that the displaceable cowling portion extends downstream, parallel to the longitudinal engine axis and above, without interference, the downstream cowling portion.

  • Publication number: 20010050995
Abstract: Audio reproduction systems are used to reproduce audio signals. A disadvantage of known audio reproduction systems is that in most cases with stereo or multichannel signals the quality performance of reproduction is very much dependent on the listening position.

  • Patent number: 6105439
Abstract: The axial thrust exerted on a rotating shaft, such as the shaft of a turbomachine rotor, is measured by a device comprising a resilient washer sandwiched between two flange members disposed around the shaft so that the axial thrust will cause axial compression of the washer between the two flange members, and displacement-measurement probes secured to a fixed structure for measuring the displacements of the flange members so that the axial thrust can be determined from the difference between the displacements and corresponding to the change in thickness of the resilient washer.

  • Patent number: 6079201
Abstract: A self-closing pivoting door thrust reverser is disclosed in which the linkage interconnecting the thrust reverser door and the thrust reverser panel redirects the forces acting on the thrust reverser door by the thrust reverser panel so as to provide a positive, self-closing force on the thrust reverser door urging it toward, or maintaining it in, the forward thrust position. The door actuator, the thrust reverser door and the thrust reverser panel are all pivotally connected to a link member at three spaced apart pivot points. When in the forward thrust positions, the line of force acting on the thrust reverser door by the thrust reverser panel passes through, or lies radially inwardly of the pivot axis of the thrust reverser door. Thus, the force of pressurized gases acting on the inner surface of the thrust reverser panel will urge the assembly toward its forward thrust position.

  • Patent number: 5782434
Abstract: A thrust reverser for a turbojet engine is disclosed having a thrust reverser door and a thrust reverser panel pivotally attached to a housing so as to pivot in opposite directions about the same pivot axis. An epicyclic gear mechanism interconnects the housing, the thrust reverser door and the thrust reverser panel such that the thrust reverser door and the thrust reverser panels move in opposite directions about the common pivot axis when moving between their forward thrust and reverse thrust positions.

  • Patent number: 5778660
Abstract: A thrust reverser for a turbofan-type turbojet engine in which the axial length of the fan housing is less than that of the turbojet engine cowling such that the movable thrust reverser baffles may be attached to the jet engine cowling and moved to an extended position wherein the cold flow gases emanating from the cold flow exhaust duct are redirected to provide a thrust reversing force. The baffles are movably attached to the engine cowling by a plurality of linkrods forming a deformable parallelogram kinematic linkage. Each of the linkrods has opposite ends pivotally attached to the movable baffle and to the engine cowling, respectively.
