  • Publication number: 20120205362
Abstract: The invention relates to an electric heater for a motor vehicle, the heater includes at least one branch circuit in which a field effect transistor is connected in series to the resistor, and a control circuit for regulating power, wherein the control circuit taps a voltage signal between the field effect transistor and the resistor and, on the basis thereof and in combination with a setpoint value signal, generates an output signal which is present at a control input of the field effect transistor. According to the invention, the resistor is a ceramic PTC resistor which is mounted with the field effect transistor on a common heat sink.

  • Patent number: 7947048
Abstract: A screwdriver serves for handling a screw in the body of a person or an animal. The screwdriver has a handle, and a stem permanently connected to said handle. An outer tube surrounds the stem. A locking mechanism has a locking element engaging into a locking point in at least three different axial displacement positions of said outer tube. The locking element is prevented from moving further in an axial direction at a locking position by a barrier, which barrier can be overcome only by rotating said outer tube and said stem relative to one another about a longitudinal axis.

  • Publication number: 20060089527
Abstract: The invention relates to a surgical instrument system encompassing a morcellator with a hollow shaft on whose distal end a cutting blade is configured, as well as a gripping instrument with a shaft on whose distal end a tool consisting of at least two jaw members and on whose proximal end a handle consisting of at least two gripping members is configured to activate the tool, in such a way that the gripping instrument can be inserted into the hollow shaft of the morcellator so that it can slide in the longitudinal direction of the morcellator shaft. To ensure versatile application along with simple structure, it is proposed with the invention that the morcellator with the insertable gripping instrument can be inserted into a hollow shaft of an additional medical instrument, in particular a resectoscope, and that an additional irrigation and/or suction canal is configured between the shaft of the morcellator and the inside of the hollow shaft of the additional medical instrument.

  • Patent number: 5943659

  • Patent number: 5706400
Abstract: Any deterministic finite-state automata (DFA) can be implemented in a sparse recurrent neural network (RNN) with second-order weights and sigmoidal discriminant functions. Construction algorithms can be extended to fault-tolerant DFA implementations such that faults in an analog implementation of neurons or weights do not affect the desired network performance. The weights are replicated k times for k-1 fault tolerance. Alternatively, the independent network is replicated 2k+1 times and the majority of the outputs is used for a k fault tolerance. In a further alternative solution, a single network with k.eta. neurons uses a "n choose k"encoding algorithm for k fault tolerance.
