  • Publication number: 20110013680
Abstract: A cable modem for establishing quality of service (QoS) for a real-time transport protocol (RTP) voice stream. The cable modem receives different packet types from a network, and establishes a BPU for each packet type. After reading one BPU periodically, the cable modem determines whether the BPU has QoS. Accordingly, the cable modem distributes a fixed bandwidth to establish QoS.

  • Patent number: 7870378
Abstract: A boot up method makes an electronic system boot up by a processor according to a boot code in a NAND flash memory and includes the following steps. First, the flash memory storing a boot code or boot codes is provided. Next, a first boot code is copied to an XIP memory in response to a hardware reset signal. Then, the processor executes the first boot code in the XIP memory and thus makes the system boot up. Next, whether the system boots up successfully is judged after a time delay. When the system fails to boot up, the system is reset and a second boot code is copied to the XIP memory. Thereafter, the processor executes the second boot code in the XIP memory and thus boots up the system. If the system still fails to boot up, the above-mentioned steps are repeated until the system boots up successfully.

  • Patent number: 7853919
Abstract: An embodiment provides systems and techniques for determining an improved process model which models mask corner rounding (MCR) effects. During operation, the system may receive a mask layout and process data which was generated by applying a photolithography process to the mask layout. The system may also receive an uncalibrated process model which may contain a set of MCR components. Next, the system may identify a set of corners in the mask layout. The system may then determine a set of mask layers, wherein at least some of the mask layers correspond to the MCR components. Next, the system may determine an improved process model by calibrating the uncalibrated process model using the set of mask layers, and the process data.
