Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus and method for downloading terrestrial DMB data using a multi-download algorithm. The multi-download algorithm enables the terrestrial DMB receiving apparatus to download and store the data service data in advance from the ensemble consisting of the video service data, the audio service data, and the data service data while enjoying the video or audio service, so that the DMB subscriber can be quickly provided with the data service data whenever needed later.

Abstract: A battery pack includes a secondary battery; and a protection device including: a measurement unit coupled to the secondary battery and configured to measure a temperature and a voltage of the secondary battery; a temperature estimation unit coupled to the measurement unit and configured to estimate a future temperature of the secondary battery; and a charging/discharging unit coupled to the secondary battery and configured to adjust a current or an input voltage applied to the secondary battery based on the future temperature and the voltage of the secondary battery.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and system for efficiently providing a multi-content, including a plurality of contents in one service, by means of a service guide upon providing the multi-content in an Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) mobile broadcasting system. When a broadcast transmitting apparatus provides a broadcast receiving apparatus with a multi-content by inserting a plurality of content into one service, the broadcast transmitting apparatus sets one of the plurality of content as a primary content, and provides a service guide including primary-content setting information to the broadcast receiving apparatus. The primary content represents a content set to be primarily provided to a user, among a plurality of content included in one service and simultaneously provided during a specific time period. The primary-content setting information represents information for identifying the primary content. The primary-content setting information may be included in a content fragment or schedule fragment of a service guide.

Abstract: Disclosed are a digital broadcasting system and a method for transmitting and receiving electronic service guide data in a digital broadcasting system, which communicates applications capable of executing content files downloaded through a file download service. The digital broadcasting system includes a digital broadcasting transmitter for broadcasting Electronic Service Guide (ESG) data which includes application information corresponding to respective content files, and a digital broadcasting receiver for receiving the broadcasted ESG data and executing applications corresponding to the respective content files by using the application information included in the ESG data.

Abstract: A method and an apparatus for processing a media file for an augmented reality service are provided. The method includes analyzing at least one media file including a marker track and a virtual object track to be used for providing the augmented reality service; generating image data needed for reproducing an image by extracting video data and/or audio data included in the media file; generating virtual object data for displaying a virtual object by extracting virtual object information included in the media file; and synthesizing the image data and the virtual object data based on the marker track to structure a final image and reproducing the final image on a screen.

Abstract: A terminal can acquire information required for an image configuration by accessing actual Electronic Service Guide (ESG) information using linking information when broadcast providers transmit Lightweight Application Scene Representation (LASeR) content including the linking information related to the LASeR content and the ESG information provided in a Digital Video Broadcasting-Handheld (DVB-H) Convergence of Broadcast and Mobile Services (CBMS), Open Mobile Alliance Broadcasting (OMA-BCAST) or Open Air Interface (OAI) standard. The broadcast providers can directly control a configuration of a broadcast image to be displayed on the terminal, such that differentiated broadcast images can be provided on a broadcast provider-by-broadcast provider basis.

Abstract: A system and method for Digital Right Management (DRM) of Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB). The system for DRM of DVB includes a DVB transmitting device for transmitting content for the DVB and information on user's rights object for the content, and a DVB receiving device for receiving and storing the transmitted content, and playing the stored data in accordance with the information on the user's rights object. A sneak post view problem occurring during the DVB is solved, and thus the digital rights for the DVB content are efficiently protected. In solving the sneak post view problem, the existing rights object and the construction of the security association database can be used, without adding a separate construction.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and a digital broadcasting system for transmitting and receiving an Electronic Service Guide (ESG). When there are ESG fragments to be transmitted through a communication network among ESG fragments included in ESG data, a digital broadcast transmitter generates an ESG data session such that the ESG data session may include route information through the communication network of the relevant ESG fragments. Then, the digital broadcast transmitter transmits the generated ESG data session to a broadcast receiving terminal, which obtains the route information through the communication network of the relevant ESG fragments. Accordingly, a user can more easily and conveniently receive the ESG data by using the route information through the communication network obtained by the broadcast receiving terminal.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for transmitting a plurality of key data. When a Short-Term Key Message (STKM) is received, a mobile equipment transmits the received STKM to a smart card. The smart card determines whether there are a plurality of key data in the STKM, detects the plurality of key data when there are the plurality of key data, generates individual information for identifying each of the plurality of detected key data, generates a response message having the plurality of detected key data and the generated individual information, and transmits the response message to the mobile equipment. Therefore, a plurality of key data can be included and transmitted in one message.

Abstract: Provided is a method of efficiently processing a Short-Term Key Message (STKM) in the mobile broadcast supporting the mobile terminal. A structure of a response message according to processing the STKM in the smart card is also provided. In particular, a variety of information necessary for reproducing in the player is included in the response message and delivered to the mobile terminal, thereby the mobile terminal can easily obtain the desired information through the response message. Therefore, when the STKM is processed in the mobile terminal, there is no need to process operations except for a resending check, and the information does not need to be stored separately.

Abstract: Disclosed is a system and a method for providing a terminal with a notification message reporting changes of a system and of a service in the middle of a Digital Video Broadcasting-Handheld (DVB-H) broadcasting service. The system inserts channel information related to the transmission of the notification message into Electronic Service Guide (ESG) service fragment or ESG acquisition fragment, then transmits the inserted channel information, or specifies a notification session for a session to transmit the session. In this manner, the channel information related to the notification message can be transmitted to a terminal through an ESG, and the terminal acquires the channel information related to the notification message from the received ESG to receive the notification message by using the channel information.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for providing an alarm service in a mobile digital broadcasting system are provided. A method of a server for providing an alarm service includes configuring a Service Map Table (SMT) that indicates provision or non-provision of an alarm service, transmitting the SMT, and transmitting an alarm service signal through at least one frequency channel. A method of a Mobile Station (MS) for receiving an alarm service includes receiving an SMT from a broadcasting server, analyzing the received SMT and determining alarm service provision or non-provision, and, when the alarm service provision is determined, receiving an alarm service through a corresponding frequency channel.

Abstract: A method of upgrading software through a software download in a Terrestrial Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (T-DMB) terminal includes the steps of announcing when the software is downloaded by receiving a T-DMB signal and analyzing a plurality of fast information groups (FIGs), determining whether the software is downloaded, storing ensemble information and download start time information; matching a current ensemble with the stored ensemble when time according to the download start time information elapses, and confirming a signaling message for informing that the software is downloaded and downloading the software.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for providing heterogeneous services using a PIP function in a terrestrial DMB receiver. The method includes: a first step of receiving a key input for activating the PIP function and displaying a list of services in an available ensemble during use of a desired DMB service; a second step of selecting a desired item in the list of services; a third step of identifying if the desired item selected at the second step is an “exchange” function and identifying if PIP function of the terrestrial DMB receiver is activated when the selected item is the “exchange” function; a fourth step of exchanging a service of a main screen for a service of a PIP screen, when it is identified that the PIP function is activated at the third step; and a fifth step of identifying if the desired item selected at the second step is the “exchange” function and displaying the selected item on the PIP screen when the selected item is not the “exchange” function.

Abstract: A composition for removing a photoresist pattern includes about 5 percent by weight to about 20 percent by weight of an aminoethoxy ethanol, about 2 percent by weight to about 10 percent by weight of a polyalkylene oxide, about 10 percent by weight to about 30 percent by weight of a glycol ether compound, and a remainder of an aprotic polar solvent including a nitrogen. Thus, the photoresist pattern can be easily removed from a substrate, thereby improving the removing ability of the composition. In addition, a residual amount of the photoresist pattern may be minimized, thereby improving the reliability of removing the photoresist pattern.

Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for receiving an Electronic Service Guide (ESG) by a mobile communication terminal in a Digital Video Broadcasting-Handheld (DVB-H) system including a service provider providing a broadcast service and the mobile communication terminal receiving the broadcast service from the service provider. Upon receipt of a broadcast service request, the mobile communication terminal determines whether a first ESG about the broadcast service has been stored. When the first ESG has been stored, the mobile communication terminal requests the service provider to first transmit broadcast data among a second ESG and the broadcast data contained in the broadcast service, based on the first ESG. The mobile communication terminal receives the broadcast data first from the service provider and displays the received broadcast data.

Abstract: A mobile terminal is configured to acquire an encryption key to decrypt a pay channel encrypted with a smartcard profile by the mobile terminal in a Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Service (MBMS) mobile broadcast system. The mobile terminal is configured to purchase a specific pay channel, determine validity of an encryption key, store a range of a valid encryption key identification value, and initialize a reference Time Stamp (TS) value. The mobile terminal also; extracts an encryption key identification value and a TS value from a last received Short Term Key Message (STKM), when a view request for the specific pay channel is created; and determines that an encryption key is valid, when the extracted TS value satisfies the reference TS and the extracted encryption key identification value falls within a range of the valid encryption key identification value, and extracts and acquires an encryption key from the STKM.

Abstract: A preset recording method through service linking according to movement from a first broadcasting area to a second broadcasting area in a terrestrial DMB terminal is provided. A preset recording for a predetermined broadcast program is checked to see if a current time is equal to a recording start time based on the specified preset recording; if so, extracting service linking information for the predetermined broadcast program; displaying that the DMB terminal has moved from the first broadcasting service area for the preset recording when the extracted service linking information corresponds to hard linking information, and recording a broadcasting program according to the hard linking information; and if they correspond, displaying that the DMB terminal has moved from the first broadcasting service area for the preset recording, and providing a list of broadcasting programs according to the soft linking information to enable a user to reset a preset recording function.
