  • Patent number: 10507893
Abstract: A ribbon-foil depressor is incorporated into a towed seismic array to provide downward lift to array sections or components. The ribbon-foil depressors may be deployed on the port and starboard spur lines or on the outboard separation ropes. The ribbon-foil depressors may be used to submerge and operate seismic equipment at depths as low as 60 m or more and are capable of maintaining towed seismic streamer cables at these depths and still remain stable through various speed changes and turns.

  • Publication number: 20190345073
Abstract: Methods for preparing ceramic matrix composites using melt infiltration and chemical vapor infiltration are provided as well as the resulting ceramic matrix composites. The methods and products include the incorporation of sacrificial fibers to provide improved infiltration of the fluid infiltrant. The sacrificial fibers are removed, such as decomposed during pyrolysis, resulting in the formation of regular and elongate channels throughout the ceramic matrix composite. Infiltration of the fluid infiltrant can then take place using the elongate channels resulting in improved density and an improved ceramic matrix composite product.

  • Patent number: 10470378
Abstract: The containment of plants and seedlings as such plants or seedlings are grown, transported, displayed and planted is provided. Containers are comprised of biodegradable materials that have the advantage of being formed into containers with various features, such as by an injection molding process, but that can be buried within the soil along with a plant's roots. Such containers allow for plant or seedling transplanting without having to separate the container from the plant's root system. More preferably, biodegradable plastics utilized in accordance with the present invention have properties such that the plastic can be injection molded and yet provide a stable structural container that will last in accordance with predetermined set needs, which needs may include environmental aspects, timing aspects and decompositional aspects. By utilizing injection molding, containers can be formed with many advantageous features.

  • Patent number: 10447810
Abstract: A computing device is described that receives, at a first particular time, first notification data. Responsive to receiving the first notification data, the computing device outputs, at a first intensity level, a first alert associated with the first notification data. The computing device receives, at a second particular time after the first particular time, second notification data. Responsive to the computing device receiving an indication of user interaction with the computing device between the first particular time and the second particular time, the computing device outputs, at the first intensity level, a second alert associated with the second notification data. Conversely, responsive to the computing device not receiving the indication of user interaction with the computing device, the computing device either outputs, at a second intensity level that is less than the first intensity level, the second alert, or refrains from outputting the second alert entirely.

  • Publication number: 20190302300
Abstract: A foil having a leading edge, trailing edge, chord and span is attached between a first head float position and bottom submerged position below the head float on the array. The foil being flexible along its span and has a first interior conduit rearward of the leading edge and a second interior conduit forward of the trailing edge. The conduits are centered on the chord and separated by a distance. A first cable having a first length is strung inside the first conduit and a second cable having a second length is strung inside the second conduit, and an adjustment mechanism is used to vary the length of the first cable relative to the length of the second cable and vice versa.
