  • Publication number: 20210185483
Abstract: A system and method to verify that the driver or operator of a vehicle or piece of equipment has completed a 360-degree walk-around inspection of the vehicle/equipment. The vehicle/equipment will be equipped with an electronic beacon that detects the direction of the driver/operator via a mobile electronic device that the driver/operator carries. As the operator walks around the vehicle/equipment, the electronic beacon installed on the vehicle/equipment recognizes the location of the mobile electronic device as the driver/operator walks around the vehicle/equipment performing their inspection. In certain embodiments, the electronic beacon and mobile electronic device determine the operator's inspection are Angle of Arrival and Angle of Departure relative to each electronic beacon. The determination may require different combinations of transmitters and receivers.

  • Patent number: 11019002
Abstract: A computing device is described that receives an electronic message encoded with first rendering instructions and second rendering instructions. The first rendering instructions are accelerated mobile pages instructions and the second rendering instructions are at least one of plain text or hypertext markup language instructions. The computing device generates a rendering of the electronic message by at least: rendering the second rendering instructions, while refraining from rendering the first rendering instructions, in response to determining that the first rendering instructions are not valid accelerated mobile pages instructions. The computing device outputs, using a display, the rendering of the electronic message.

  • Publication number: 20210148903
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of determining the presence or absence of a target analyte in a sample. The method comprises immobilising any target analyte present in the sample on a surface; contacting the surface with: (i) a first detection agent that binds specifically to the target analyte; and (ii) a reporter polynucleotide, wherein the reporter polynucleotide is bound to, or binds to, the first detection agent; and contacting a transmembrane pore with any reporter polynucleotide that has been immobilised on the surface, wherein the reporter polynucleotide is immobilised on the surface by binding of the first agent to the target analyte, and using the transmembrane pore to detect the reporter polynucleotide, thereby determining the presence or absence of the target analyte in the sample.

  • Patent number: 10992779
Abstract: A computing device is described that receives, at a first particular time, first notification data. Responsive to receiving the first notification data, the computing device outputs, at a first intensity level, a first alert associated with the first notification data. The computing device receives, at a second particular time after the first particular time, second notification data. Responsive to the computing device receiving an indication of user interaction with the computing device between the first particular time and the second particular time, the computing device outputs, at the first intensity level, a second alert associated with the second notification data. Conversely, responsive to the computing device not receiving the indication of user interaction with the computing device, the computing device either outputs, at a second intensity level that is less than the first intensity level, the second alert, or refrains from outputting the second alert entirely.

  • Publication number: 20210055341
Abstract: Example devices and methods for compensating for monitoring a surge protection device are provided. In some embodiments, a device is configured to couple to a surge protection device. The device comprises a processor that is capable of sending a DC current signal. A serial data interface is electrically connected to the processor and includes at least one shift register. The device also comprises a multiplexer coupled to the serial data interface. The serial data interface is operable to direct the DC current through the multiplexer. The device also comprises an analog to digital converter (optionally embedded within the processor) that is operable to output a digital signal corresponding to a voltage induced by the DC current signal. Returned DC signals represent surge protection device's health and a multitude of other surge module information.

  • Publication number: 20210018216
Abstract: Automatic house vent is a house vent system that automatically closes all house vents when electrical power is shut off to the house. Automatic house vent is a fire prevention mechanism that closes all house vents in order to prevent burning ambers from entering the house through a house vent and starting a fire from the inside of the house. It is standard procedure during forest fires for the authorities to shut off electrical power to communities in the path of the fire. Each house vent is mechanically opened and closed by an electric solenoid actuator that is connected by electrical wiring to a special circuit breaker located in the house electrical panel or breaker box.
