  • Patent number: 10741405
Abstract: A method for patterning a substrate including multiple layers using a sulfur-based mask includes providing a substrate including a first layer and a second layer arranged on the first layer. The first layer includes a material selected from a group consisting of germanium, silicon germanium and type III/V materials. The method includes depositing a mask layer including sulfur species on sidewalls of the first layer and the second layer by exposing the substrate to a first wet chemistry. The method includes removing the mask layer on the sidewalls of the second layer while not completely removing the mask layer on the sidewalls of the first layer by exposing the substrate to a second wet chemistry. The method includes selectively etching the second layer relative to the first layer and the mask layer on the sidewalls of the first layer by exposing the substrate to a third wet chemistry.

  • Publication number: 20200223601
Abstract: Child-resistant containers or packages having spinning collar cap assemblies are provided, as are methods for manufacturing such containers. In various embodiments, the child-resistant container includes a container body having an inner cavity, an opening to the inner cavity, and a container neck circumscribing the opening. A spinning collar is retained around the container neck and is rotatable relative thereto in at least a first rotational direction. The child-resistant container further includes an overcap, which is sized and shaped to enclose the opening when attached to the spinning collar. Through the provision of a suitable threaded interface the overcap can be (i) detached from the spinning collar by rotation of the overcap relative to the spinning collar in the first rotational direction and (ii) removably attached to the spinning collar by rotation of the overcap relative to the spinning collar in a second rotational direction opposite the first rotational direction.

  • Publication number: 20200214433
Abstract: An support structure of an article that has a tamper deterrent structure. The support structure, such as a handle, includes segments that are connected by a series of connectors. Both the segments and the connectors, on their own, are designed to prevent their use as a weapon. The connectors provide structure to the segments when the support structure is used as intended but are positioned so the support structure will fail upon intentional manipulation. This manipulation causes the support structure to break into smaller pieces in the event the support structure is attempted to be fashioned into or used as a weapon.

  • Publication number: 20200198856
Abstract: A container includes a container body with a projection and a cap with a cover member, an inner member, and an outer member. The inner member is threadably engaged to the neck of the container body and is supported for movement between a first threaded position and a second threaded position relative to the container body. The outer member depends from the cover member and extends at least partly about the inner member and an axis. The outer member includes a tamper-evident member that includes an abutment member configured to engage with the projection to limit movement of the cap from the first threaded position to the second threaded position. Also, the tamper-evident member is permanently deformable to disengage the projection and allow movement of the cap from the first threaded position to the second threaded position.

  • Publication number: 20200198855
Abstract: A container body has a neck defining an opening with an axis. The neck includes a projection that projects radially away from the axis. A cap includes a wall that defines at least part of an exterior of the cap. The wall includes an aperture extending therethrough. The cap is removably attached to the neck and supported for movement on the neck between a first position and a second position. The wall is resiliently flexible for radial movement between a retained position and an unretained position with respect to the neck. In the retained position the projection retains the cap in the first position. The wall, in the unretained position, allows movement of the cap from the first position toward the second position.

  • Publication number: 20200191820
Abstract: A wheel speed sensor includes a housing having a longitudinal axis. The housing receives a speed measurement instrument and faces an exciter ring upon insertion into an opening in a sensor mounting block spaced from the excite ring such that the instrument senses rotation of the exciter ring. A plurality of springs are mounted in the housing and project radially outwardly therefrom with at least a subset of the springs engaging a surface of the opening in the sensor mounting block. Each spring has first and second ends over molded by the housing and an intermediate section between the first and second ends spaced from a radially outer surface of the housing.

  • Patent number: 10687005
Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide ADCs particularly suitable for PDAF image sensors, which ADCs may have an increased speed and/or reduced design complexity and power consumption compared to conventional implementations. An example ADC for a PDAF image sensor is configured to implement modified SAR techniques which reduce the number of bit trials required for conversion, and enable increased number of samples in a row-conversion time period of the image sensor. The ADC may implement the modified SAR techniques in combination with CMS in pixel readout signal chain, which may reduce noise without a proportionate increase in ADC sample rate.

  • Patent number: 10507331
Abstract: In embodiments, a wearable cardiac defibrillator system includes an energy storage module configured to store a charge. Two electrodes can be configured to be applied to respective locations of a patient. One or more reservoirs can store one or more conductive fluids. Respective fluid deploying mechanisms can be configured to cause the fluids to be released from one or more of the reservoirs, which decreases the impedance at the patient location, and decreases discomfort for the patient. In some embodiments an impedance is sensed between the two electrodes, and the stored charge is delivered when the sensed impedance meets a discharge condition. In some embodiments, different fluids are released for different patient treatments. In some embodiments, fluid release is controlled to be in at least two doses, with an intervening pause.
