  • Publication number: 20090288662
Abstract: Apparatus for use in delivery of gas capable of combustion that incorporates a safety valve unit. The safety valve unit closes the flow path of the gas from the source upon occurrence of a fire. The safety valve unit has a valve body, a valve head resiliently biased towards a valve-closure position and a fusible retainer that holds the valve member in a valve open position. The valve body defines a fluid flow passage between an outlet and the valve head. Within the fluid flow passage there is an elongate link member which extends from the valve head to the foot. The foot engages the fusible retainer.

  • Publication number: 20090166226
Abstract: A modular coupling system allows a combined gas canister and integral regulator to be used with a wide range of different utilizer devices such as flow meter, conservor or delivery apparatus. A first coupling part is secured to the pressurized gas canister permanently, and carries a combined main delivery valve and venting valve to allow connection of the gas utilizer to the canister by means of a second coupling part formed integrally with or attached to the gas utilizer device by a simple push and twist action which, upon fitting, closes the venting valve; and opens the main delivery valve in sequence.

  • Patent number: 7273481
Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention is directed to a bone plate assembly that includes a bone plate, bone screw(s) received in aperture(s) in the bone plate, and screw fixation member(s). The screw fixation member(s) may, alone or in conjunction with the bone plate, fix the bone screw(s) in place when such bone screw(s) are inserted in the aperture(s) in the bone plate. In one example (which example is intended to be illustrative and not restrictive) when the bone screw(s) have been received by the bone plate and inserted into bone and/or tissue, the bone plate assembly can be used to fuse anatomical structures together (such as adjoining bones) and/or to heal a fracture in bone.

  • Patent number: 6912522
Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product for optimization and acceleration of data transport and processing in a communication system or computer network. The system comprises one or more client devices each running a client application module, one or more communication server modules, a launcher module, and a controller module for initiating system modules, allocating system resources, and monitoring system operation. A client application modules is the means through which data is translated from its original format into an accelerated transport protocol (ATP) format for optimized and accelerated transport to a communication server module. A client application module also recieves reply data from a communication server module and translates the received data from ATP format back to its original format. The controller module is responsible for creating the interface between the communication server module and the launcher module, which involves the creation of processing queues.

  • Publication number: 20040215665
Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product for providing accelerated and secure wireless data transmission over the internet. Accelerated and secure wireless data transmission over the internet is provided through use of a specific agent, referred to as a Wireless Web Accelerator (WWA) agent that further optimizes and accelerates data transport and processing for wireless web-based applications. Data transport and processing between client devices, such as MCDs, PDAs, and other wireless devices, and web-based applications is optimized and accelerated by the WWA agent, which reduces the amount of data necessary to transmit in processing the requested transaction and modifies the data transmitted to the client device to facilitate more efficient rendering by the web browser on the wireless client device. The amount of data required to be transmitted is reduced by compressing, removing, and/or modifying unusable, superfluous, or otherwise unnecessary data.

  • Patent number: 6513231
Abstract: The system includes stationary assembly jigs for supporting mechanical structures during assembly thereof, and a plurality of mobile, modular workstations that travel from one assembly jig to another. Each workstation interfaces with the assembly jigs and is configured to facilitate a unique set of work operations on the mechanical structures. The workstations can include worker platforms, parts storage modules, drill and fasten modules, tooless component indexing modules, self-contained cleaning modules, functional testing modules, and others. Docking members on the workstations and the assembly jigs enable the workstations to dock with the jigs for indexing the workstations to the jigs. The assembly jigs can include utility ports and the workstations can include couplers that engage the ports so that electrical, pneumatic, water, vacuum, and/or data communication can be established between the workstations and the jigs.

  • Patent number: 5818886
Abstract: A pulse synchronizing module includes: a) a pair of input leads which respectively receive a clock signal and digital input pulses that are asynchronous to the clock signal; b) a first counter circuit which is triggered by rising edge transitions in the input pulses, and a second counter circuit which is triggered by falling edge transitions in the input pulses; c) first and second registers which, in synchronization with the clock signal, sample respective counts in the first and second counter circuits; and d) an output circuit, coupled to the first and second registers. This output circuit generates, the rising edge of an output pulse, in synchronization with the clock signal, when the count sample in the first register differs from the number of rising edges which the output circuit previously generated; and it generates the falling edge of the output pulse, in synchronization with the clock signal, when the count sample in the second register differs from the number of falling edges previously generated.

  • Patent number: 5737754
Abstract: A cache memory includes: a plurality of tag memory blocks, each of which stores multiple compare addresses; a first bus which sends a low order address to all of the tag memory blocks; a respective output from each tag memory block on which a compare address is read in response to the low order address; a second bus which carries a high order address; and, a comparator circuit which generates a miss signal when the compare address on the output from every tag memory block miscompares with the high order address. Each tag memory block further stores respective control bits with each compare address; and each tag memory block responds to the low order address by reading the compare address and the respective control bits, in parallel, on its respective output.
