  • Publication number: 20220413785
Abstract: An infotainment system for a motor vehicle includes a display screen positioned to be visible by a passenger of the motor vehicle. A storage arrangement stores a collection of video segments to be presented on the display screen. The storage arrangement also stores metadata in association with the video segments. A user interface receives inputs from the passenger. A sensor detects a characteristic of the passenger. A processing arrangement is communicatively coupled to each of the display screen, the collection of video segments, the user interface and the sensor. The processing arrangement selects one of the video segments to present on the display screen. The selecting of the one video segment is dependent upon inputs received from the passenger via the user interface, signals received from the sensor indicative of the characteristic of the passenger, and metadata associated with individual segments.

  • Patent number: 11524193
Abstract: A fire-fighting vehicle includes a boom assembly movably coupled to a chassis, a penetrating nozzle coupled to the boom assembly, an actuator that moves the penetrating nozzle relative to the chassis, and a controller operatively coupled to a sensor. The penetrating nozzle includes a piercing tip and an outlet configured to be selectively fluidly coupled to a supply of fire suppressant. The piercing tip is repositionable relative to a surface of an object having an interior cavity. The outlet supplies fire suppressant into the interior cavity when the piercing tip is within the interior cavity. The sensor provides data relating to at least one of a position and an orientation of the piercing tip relative to the surface. The controller determines an angular orientation of the piercing tip relative to the surface based on the data.

  • Publication number: 20220155605
Abstract: A head up display arrangement for a motor vehicle includes a head up display producing a virtual image that is visible to a driver of the motor vehicle when he is sitting in a driver's seat and his eyes are above a first vertical level and below a second vertical level. An eye tracking system detects a vertical level of the eyes of the driver and transmits a height signal indicative of the detected vertical level of the eyes of the driver. A motorized seat height adjustment module adjusts a vertical level of the driver's seat. An electronic controller is communicatively coupled to the eye tracking system and to the motorized seat height adjustment module. The electronic controller controls the motorized seat height adjustment module based on the height signal to move the driver's eyes to a vertical position above the first vertical level and below the second vertical level.
