  • Patent number: 9744448
Abstract: Handheld location based games are provided in which a user's physical location correlates to the virtual location of a virtual character on a virtual playfield. Augmented Reality (AR) systems are provided in which video game indicia are overlaid onto a user's physical environment. A landscape detector is provided that may obtain information about a user's landscape, in addition to the user's location, in order to provide overlaying information to an AR head-mounted display and control information to non-user controlled video game characters.

  • Publication number: 20170226817
Abstract: A system includes a downhole tool assembly extendable within a wellbore. A running tool axially interposes the downhole tool assembly and the conveyance and includes an elongate body providing an interior and one or more radial protrusions. A connection sub is disposed about the body and provides a releasable connection engageable with the downhole tool assembly. A torque sleeve is disposed about the body and at least a portion of the connection sub. A connection sub piston interposes the body and the connection sub and is axially movable between a supported position, where the connection sub piston radially supports the connection sub, and an unsupported position, where at least a portion of the connection sub is radially unsupported by the connection sub piston. Increasing pressure within an annulus between the running tool and the wellbore moves the connection sub piston from the supported position to the unsupported position.

  • Patent number: 9703369
Abstract: An augmented reality home console is provided. Users can wear head-mounted displays with transparent screens and can control video game indicia that are perceived as being augmented over a user's environment by displaying video game indicia onto the transparent displays. As such, for example, two users can play an airplane dog fighting game where each user controls a plane in their living room. A device that can determine surfaces of objects (e.g., walls) can be utilized such that when the airplane is flown into a wall, the airplane explodes.

  • Patent number: 9639796
Abstract: A payment card (e.g., credit and/or debit card) is provided with a magnetic emulator operable to act as a magnetic stripe read-head detector and a data transmitter. A multiple layer flexible PCB may be fabricated to include multiple magnetic emulators. An emulator may include a coil that includes magnetic, ferromagnetic, or ferromagnetic, material in the coil's interior. Coils may be associated with zones. As a read-head is detected to move from zone-to-zone, coils may be activated to transmit information in those zones.

  • Patent number: 9442563
Abstract: A portable device (e.g., a wireless device such as a cell phone) is provided with a flexible keyboard and a flexible display screen. Such flexible components may be stored in the housing of the portable device when not in use. The flexible display screen and flexible keyboard may be expanded from the housing when the flexible components are utilized by a user. Non-flexible display and input components may be provided on the exterior of the portable device such that the device may be used, in some form, while the flexible components are stored. In one embodiment, a portion of the flexible display (or flexible keyboard) may be utilized when the flexible display (or flexible keyboard) is stored in said first housing.

  • Publication number: 20160205061
Abstract: Social websites, such as dating websites, are provided with advanced features. For example, a dynamic telephone number generator is provided that may be associated to a destination telephone number. Someone calling that dynamic telephone number may be routed to the destination number. The dynamic number may be generated as a result of receiving user input to a dating website. Additionally, a dynamic number may call a user's web browser directly such that users can utilize traditional telephone lines to talk over the internet to a website.

  • Publication number: 20150068771
Abstract: A downhole ball dropping system operable to be positioned in a well. The system includes a tool string having a flow path. A ball dropper assembly is interconnected in the tool string. The ball dropper assembly has a sliding sleeve including a port. A ball is releasably retained by the ball dropper assembly. An actuation assembly is operably associated with the ball dropper assembly and is operable to receive a deployment signal. A release assembly is disposed within the ball dropper assembly. A sensor is operable to detect deployment of the ball and is operable to generate a signal indicating whether the ball deployed. In operation, responsive to the deployment signal, the actuation assembly triggers shifting of the sliding sleeve to align the port with the ball and shifting of the release assembly to push the ball into the flow path through the port.
