  • Publication number: 20100168210
Abstract: The invention provides cytokine modulators and methods for using the same to modulate cytokine production in monocyte lineage-derived cells. In particular, cytokine modulators of the invention selectively bind to a T-cell cytokine-inducing surface molecule (TCISM)-ligand of T lymphocytes or the corresponding TCISM-receptor of monocyte lineage-derived cells, thereby modulating cytokine production in monocyte lineage-derived cells.

  • Publication number: 20100063790
Abstract: A method of creating a simplified computer implement for engine model comprises obtaining a complete computer implement for engine model (110) and selecting, from the complete engine model (110), elements defining the simplified engine model (110). The method further comprises obtaining from a library of rules at least one computer implementable model creation rule corresponding to the selected elements and using that at one rule to create the simplified computer implementable engine model (110).

  • Publication number: 20080238706
Abstract: Apparatus and a method for causing a printed display (poster, placard or promotional flier) to become interactive when a person points to part of the display. Behind the display a customised layout of capacitative proximity sensors printed with conductive inks on to a low-cost disposable, replaceable substrate (paper, plastic, cardboard) in alignment with visually significant features of the display is connected to proximity-sensing circuitry. Audio-visual or multimedia responses using pre-recorded or synthesised information are reproduced in event of a selection.

  • Publication number: 20080089841
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the MRT representation of a blood vessel (A) and/or of the territory supplied by the blood vessel (A) by labeling the blood, which is guided by this blood vessel (A), by means of continuous arterial spin labeling (CASL), in a specified labeling plane (E). The position of the labeling plan (E) is varied with the provision that a specified location of the blood vessel (A) remains in the labeling plane (E). This enables, for example, a selective labeling of a blood vessel of interest to be saturated by varying the position of the labeling plane.

  • Publication number: 20070268182
Abstract: A real-time signal processing engine robustly detects, localizes, tracks and classifies ground targets based on radar signals from a multistatic radar system. The system differentiates between different targets based on an optimized cost function, which can include the total returned normalized pulse energy. The local transmitters/receivers can communicate with each other via the transmitted radar signals.

  • Publication number: 20070194518
Abstract: A plunger moves from a retracted position to an extended position to engage a document which is on a receiving platform to push the document through an opening in the receiving platform and towards a stacking platform to stack the document on the stacking platform. The plunger moves from the extended position back to the retracted position to allow a biasing force which is acting on the stacking platform to press the document which has just been stacked on the stacking platform against the receiving platform.

  • Publication number: 20070076941
Abstract: A method is provided of operating a remote check image capture device. The method comprises capturing a color image of a check provided by a user at the remote check image capture device, storing the color image of the check, deriving from the color image a non-color image of the check, transmitting to an institution the non-color image of the check, and receiving from the institution a request to retrieve the color image of the check in response to the institution determining that the non-color image of the check is unusable.

  • Patent number: 7088835
Abstract: A digital wavetable audio synthesizer is described. A synthesizer volume generator, which has several modes of controlling the volume, adds envelope, right offset, left offset, and effects volume to the data. The data can be placed in one of sixteen fixed stereo pan positions, or left and right offsets can be programmed to place the data anywhere in the stereo field. The left and right offset values can also be programmed to control the overall volume. Zipper noise is prevented by controlling the volume increment. A synthesizer LFO generator can ad LFO variation to: (i) the wavetable data addressing rate, for creating a vibrato effect; and (ii) a voice's volume, for creating a tremolo effect. Generated data to be output from the synthesizer is stored in left and right accumulators. However, when creating delay-based effects, data is stored in one of several effects accumulators. This data is then written to a wavetable.

  • Publication number: 20060036466
Abstract: A method for providing images to a customer includes receiving a request for an image from a customer. The request identifies at least one image criteria. A set of automation parameters is used to select a plurality of shooters to submit one or more images in fulfillment of the request. The occurrence of an escalation event is detected, and in response to the escalation event, the set of automation parameters are adjusted to modify the plurality of shooters selected.
