  • Publication number: 20230302241
Abstract: This invention relates to a breath indicator that is receivable by a part of a breathing assistance apparatus that supplies gas to a patient. The indicator comprises an elongate body having a gas sampling end and an attachment end. The attachment end is adapted to attach to a part of a breathing assistance apparatus and for locating the gas sampling end. The gas sampling end is to be located in a region where gas from the patient is to be exhaled. The gas sampling end being in communication with a sensor comprising a detector material changeable between a first visual indicator state relating to an inhalation phase of the patient, and a second visual indicator state relating to an exhalation phase of the patient. The detector material is capable of changing between the visual indicator states at a sufficient rate to substantially correspond with the inhalation and exhalation phases of the patient.

  • Publication number: 20230302538
Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining an alignment of an optical scanner for directing an electromagnetic beam to locations within a scan field. The method may include locating a reference element within the scan field of the optical scanner and controlling the optical scanner to cause the electromagnetic beam to be directed to a plurality of different points in the scan field, including at least one point on the reference element. Reflected electromagnetic radiation is detected. The method may include determining when the electromagnetic beam is directed to a reference position in the scan field given by the reference element from a comparison of an intensity of the detected electromagnetic radiation for the different points and determining a corresponding demand signal that causes the optical scanner to direct the electromagnetic beam to the reference position.

  • Publication number: 20230291548
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a data storage device. A data port transmits data between a host computer system and the data storage device. A non-volatile storage medium stores encrypted user content data and a cryptography engine connected between the data port and the storage medium uses a cryptographic key to decrypt the encrypted user content data. Multiple manager device records each comprise a first key identical for each of the records, and a second key that different for each of the records. The controller generates an authorization request using the first key and receives a response to the request generated by a manager device. The response is specific to that manager device. The controller uses the response to locate the record; decrypts the located manager device record to obtain key data; and generates configuration data based on the key data to register the device.

  • Publication number: 20230289089
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a data storage device. A data port transmits data between a host computer system and the data storage device. A non-volatile storage medium stores encrypted user content data and a cryptography engine connected between the data port and the storage medium uses a cryptographic key to decrypt the encrypted user content data. The access controller generates authorization request data indicative of multiple devices to be authorized, and stores the authorization request data on non-volatile configuration memory of the data storage device. Upon approval of the authorization request data by a manager device that is registered with the access controller as a manager device, the access controller locates the authorization request data of one of the multiple devices to be authorized and registers the one of the multiple devices to be authorized as an authorized device.

  • Patent number: 11748186
Abstract: A neural network runs a known input data set using an error free power setting and using an error prone power setting. The differences in the outputs of the neural network using the two different power settings determine a high level error rate associated with the output of the neural network using the error prone power setting. If the high level error rate is excessive, the error prone power setting is adjusted to reduce errors by changing voltage and/or clock frequency utilized by the neural network system. If the high level error rate is within bounds, the error prone power setting can remain allowing the neural network to operate with an acceptable error tolerance and improved efficiency. The error tolerance can be specified by the neural network application.

  • Patent number: 11745043
Abstract: A lock mechanism which can be placed on a shaft, such as a bar or pole, in either a first direction or second direction, is secured to the shaft using two sets of balls which project out of apertures in an inner cylinder to frictionally engage the shaft. The balls are selectively retractable from their projecting position to allow the inner cylinder to slide on and/or be removed from the shaft. Biasing members, such as wavy springs, bias the two sides of the lock mechanism towards one another. In the locked configuration, the balls are forced by inclined surfaces within the two sides to project outwardly from the inner hollow cylinder. The inclined surfaces are aligned with two rows of apertures in the inner hollow cylinder, and they are inclined in opposite directions. Thus, either way the lock mechanism is installed or placed on the shaft, the balls will project out of the apertures in the inner hollow cylinder and will securely engage the shaft.

  • Patent number: 11742038
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments provide wear spreading among die regions (i.e., one or more circuits) in an integrated circuit or among dies by using operating condition data in addition to or instead of environmental data such as temperature data, from each of a plurality of die regions. Control logic produces a cumulative amount of time each of the plurality of die regions has spent at an operating condition based on operating condition data wherein the operating condition data is based on at least one of the following operating characteristics: frequency of operation of the plurality of die regions, an operating voltage of the plurality of die regions, an activity level of the plurality of die regions, a timing margin of the plurality of die regions, and a number of detected faults of the plurality of die regions. The method and apparatus spreads wear among the plurality of same type of die regions by controlling task execution among the plurality of die regions using the die wear-out data.

  • Publication number: 20230261408
Abstract: This document describes techniques and apparatuses directed to force distributing spring contacts. The disclosed spring contacts electrically connect a first component to a second component within a computing device. In implementations, the computing device includes a spring contact having a flexure coupled to a contact pin and configured to apply a force to the second component through the contact pin. The contact pin can include a small or precise structure configured to provide a precise electrical connection to the second component. However, the force to the second component through the small or precise structure of the contact pin increases an applied pressure, which can damage the second component. The disclosed techniques and apparatuses describe force distributing spring contacts with a force distributor configured to distribute the force to the second component over a larger surface area, thereby decreasing the applied pressure and preventing damage to the second component.

  • Publication number: 20230258427
Abstract: The present disclosure explains a system and method for determining a spatial orientation of a weapon in an augmented reality training environment. Fiducial markers are mounted on the weapon and two cameras are mounted on a user's head to capture spatial coordinates of the plurality of fiducial markers. The spatial coordinates of fiducial markers are processed to determine the spatial orientation of the weapon and a simulated discharging of the weapon. Augmented reality imagery is generated based on the spatial orientation and the detected movement. The augmented reality imagery corresponding to the spatial orientation and discharging of the weapon is rendered for the user with the head-mounted display.
