  • Publication number: 20220373871
Abstract: A camera built into a cylindrical housing couples to a stand with a stand member that inserts into an opening having a magnet attracted to ferromagnetic material integrated in the stand member. The stand member may couple to a bracket that holds the camera at a display or to a tripod that places the camera between the display and an end user participating in a video conference. A lens cover couples over a front face of the camera with magnetic attraction and is stored at a rear face of the camera with magnetic attraction. In various embodiments, sensors detect lens cap and/or stand member position to control camera power and/or camera visual image capture operations.

  • Publication number: 20220377212
Abstract: An information handling system peripheral camera is built by inserting a subassembly into a cylindrical housing and enclosing the subassembly with a bezel at the front and cover at the rear. The cylindrical housing is extruded with aluminum to have seams formed along the length of the interior. The seams provide alignment of the subassembly and are machined at the front and rear to form threads that accept screws to couple the bezel and rear cover to the cylindrical housing. To hide the screws, a back plate couples over the rear cover and an opaque treatment is applied to a circumference of a cover glass placed over the bezel.

  • Publication number: 20220362663
Abstract: Systems and methods provide haptic feedback at locations of a keyboard palm rest during operation of a software program, such as a video game. During game play, a haptic event, such as an explosion, is detected within the game. A magnitude of the event and a direction of the event from a reference location in the game, such as an avatar's location, are determined. Haptic feedback locations on the palm rest are selected based on the magnitude of the event and the direction of the event from the reference location. Mechanical and thermal haptic feedback are generated at the selected locations of the palm rest, where the strength and timing of the feedback at each location are selected based on the magnitude and direction information for the event. Embodiments thus provide multi-dimensional haptic feedback that relates positional awareness to a user of events occurring within a video game.

  • Patent number: 11482169
Abstract: An information handling system organic light emitting diode (OLED) display adapts presentation of visual information to manage a display thermal state, such as to maintain a uniform thermal condition. In one example embodiment, a first display zone of plural pixels presents visual images with a first refresh rate, such as the nominal refresh rate established by the display settings, and a second display zone presents visual images with a partial pixel refresh rate that reduces power dissipation and, thus, thermal energy release so that a more uniform thermal state may be achieved at the display.

  • Patent number: 11437967
Abstract: An information handling system housing forms an audio chamber within which a speaker generates audible noise based upon audible information. An adaptive material, such as an electroactive polymer, is disposed at an opening formed in the audio chamber to selectively expand to increase the audio chamber size and contract to decrease the audio chamber size. An increased audio chamber volume enhances audible noise, such as music or audio associated with audiovisual content. A decrease audio chamber can improve airflow within the housing, such as during times of thermal stress.
