  • Patent number: 11748291
Abstract: A wireless gaming keyboard and mouse adapter system may comprise a wireless gaming keyboard and mouse adapter housing, forming a dongle operably coupled to an input device, within which an electrical circuit and an antenna are embedded within a plurality crystal polymer layers for housing a network interface device, a USB-C adapter mounting, and a controller, which may be electrically coupled via the electrical circuit, and where the network interface device is electrically coupled to the antenna. The controller may receive input/output gaming instructions for the gaming software application, via the USB-C adapter, from an input device for a remote information handling system executing the gaming software application, and may execute wireless gaming keyboard and mouse adapter system code instructions to direct the network interface device to transceive the input/output gaming instructions to a cloud-based gaming application server via the wireless network Access Point (AP) at frequencies above 24 GHz.

  • Patent number: 11736789
Abstract: An information handling system peripheral camera ensures privacy with a cover that minimizes distance of a camera module to a front opening of the camera housing. For instance, opposing cover members rotate about geared ends that engage to translate rotation between the members, where the members meet over a camera opening to block capture of visual images and move to opposing sides to expose the camera module. In an alternative embodiment, a rotating shutter arrangement selectively covers the camera for security and also covers a microphone to provide security against unauthorized audible access through the camera. Selective covering and exposing of a camera module, infrared camera, microphone and user presence detection sensor support adaptive security at a camera based upon end user context.

  • Patent number: 11733594
Abstract: A camera built into a cylindrical housing couples to a stand with a stand member that inserts into an opening having a magnet attracted to ferromagnetic material integrated in the stand member. The stand member may couple to a bracket that holds the camera at a display or to a tripod that places the camera between the display and an end user participating in a video conference. A lens cover couples over a front face of the camera with magnetic attraction and is stored at a rear face of the camera with magnetic attraction. In various embodiments, sensors detect lens cap and/or stand member position to control camera power and/or camera visual image capture operations.

  • Patent number: 11733787
Abstract: An information handling system mouse includes a position sensor that detects movement and a push button that detects button press inputs for communication to an information handling system. An indicator light exposed at an upper surface of the mouse provides an indication of power state, such as by illuminating a product logo. The position sensor detects positions with a focus aided by a resolution illumination light, such as a laser. The push button detects button press inputs with a scan performed at a processing resource, such as an MCU. The processing resource configures power on and off the resolution illumination light and the indicator light based upon position sensor focus and button press inputs by an end user that predict the end user's hand position on the mouse.

  • Patent number: 11671687
Abstract: An information handling system peripheral camera is built by inserting a subassembly into a cylindrical housing and enclosing the subassembly with a bezel at the front and cover at the rear. The cylindrical housing is extruded with aluminum to have seams formed along the length of the interior. The seams provide alignment of the subassembly and are machined at the front and rear to form threads that accept screws to couple the bezel and rear cover to the cylindrical housing. To hide the screws, a back plate couples over the rear cover and an opaque treatment is applied to a circumference of a cover glass placed over the bezel.

  • Patent number: 11656688
Abstract: A system for provisioning information to a user comprises a first display for displaying information for an application executing on an information handling system and a second display with a first zone for displaying information associated with the application and a second zone for displaying information associated with the information handling system. A biometric sensor determines which display the user is viewing. If the user is viewing the first display, eye tracking software determines actions based on the application. If the user is viewing the second display, eye tracking software determines if the user is viewing the first zone or the second zone. If the user is viewing the first zone, advanced or additional information associated with the application is displayed. If the user is viewing the second zone, advanced or additional information associated with the information handling system is displayed.

  • Patent number: 11650700
Abstract: A portable information handling system commands a stylus to vibrate to aid in location of the stylus. The stylus vibrates at a frequency selected from a range of plural frequencies based upon a distance between the portable information handling system and stylus so that an audible noise is generated by the stylus with sufficient sound to be heard by a user of the portable information handling system while minimizing stylus power consumption. In one embodiment, a haptic film at the stylus exterior surface and/or a speaker of information handling system generates an ultrasonic sound detectable by a microphone of the information handling system and/or the stylus for determining a distance between the information handling system and the stylus.

  • Patent number: 11628661
Abstract: An increase in the amount of recycled plastic used in a display assembly can be obtained by introducing other types of plastic material that allow increasing the recyclable content beyond 25% without significantly lowering the strength properties of the plastic. The recycled plastic materials may be assembled together with a bio-based material. One example display assembly with higher recycled plastic content while maintaining sufficient plastic strength is an assembly having an external frame having 70% recycled PC ABS mixed with 30% fresh PPS (Polyphenylene Sulfide), a diffuser optical film having 60-80% recycled PET mixed with fresh PET, and a light guide path (e.g., plate) having 70% recycled PC mixed with fresh COP (Cyclo Olefin Polymers). The stiffness strength of the display assembly may further be improved by laminating the display assembly with biodegradable adhesives and/or edge-bonded with ultrasound or laser fusion.

  • Publication number: 20230114345
Abstract: A method for selecting sustainable materials for components of the information handling system can improve sustainability in a cost-effective manner. The method may analyze and determine component configurations with a goal of increasing (e.g., maximizing) overall sustainable material weight contribution by the respective product category and decreasing (e.g., minimizing) cost impact to overall company revenue and/or margin. In determining component configurations, the method may consider parameters including baseline weight, bill of materials (BOM) of the product, sustainable materials attainable, sustainable materials weightage, and/or program decision.
