  • Publication number: 20180271211
Abstract: A midsole for an article of footwear including a three dimensional mesh including interconnected unit cells and methods of making the same. The interconnected unit cells each include a plurality of struts defining a three dimensional shape. The interconnected unit cells are connected at nodes having a valence number defined by the number of struts connected at that node. The valence number of the nodes may vary to provide customized characteristics to zones or portions of the midsole. The plurality of interconnected unit cells may be organized in a warped cubic lattice structure. The warped cubic lattice structure and the size/shape of interconnected unit cells may vary to provide customized characteristics to zones or portions of the midsole. The three dimensional mesh may be customized based on a biometric data profile for an individual, or group of individuals. The midsole may be manufactured using an additive manufacturing process.

  • Patent number: 10055628
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for detecting item scans with audio signal processing. A first machine-readable identifier may be rendered in a display device associated with at least one computing device, where the first machine-readable identifier is associated with a first item in a list of items. An audio signal may be captured using a microphone and analyzed to identify a predetermined tone in the audio signal indicative of a scan being performed on a register device. In response to the predetermined tone in the audio signal being identified, the first machine-readable identifier may be replaced with a second machine-readable identifier in the display device, where the second machine-readable identifier is associated with a second item in the list of items.

  • Publication number: 20170116773
Abstract: A graphics processing system performs a final gather process so as to generate final gather lighting data for a scene. The final gather process comprises casting sampling rays from a final gather point within the scene. Radiosity data provided for the scene is sampled using the sampling rays cast from the final gather point. Final gather lighting data is then generated from the sampled radiosity data. The sampling rays are cast from the final gather point in an informed manner based on directional irradiance data provided for the scene. The final gather process can therefore be carried out by the graphics processing system more efficiently and effectively.

  • Patent number: 9071465
Abstract: Method and system for message service via network connections, for example, in the context of a mobile communication network. A request is received by a message server located in a cluster of one or more message servers to send a message to a specified recipient. A bind request mechanism accesses an available bind from a bind pool managed in accordance with, at least in part, an operational parameter of a routing entity. Using the available bind, the message server sends the message, through a routing entity interface via a network, to the routing entity which subsequently forwards the message to the specified recipient.

  • Patent number: 8577331
Abstract: A mobile communication network offers notification to an account holder upon occurrence of an infraction of a subscriber selected restriction by operation of one of the mobile stations under the subscriber's account. In the examples, the subscriber can select a directory number/station under the account, a desired one of a number of available restriction options and one or more parameters of the selected restriction. When the mobile communication network detects an infraction, caused by operation of the mobile station through the network, a system or processor obtains a destination address designated for an account holder, for the subscriber's account, such as the directory number for one of the subscriber's stations selected as that of the account holder. The system sends a notification of the infraction intended for the account holder, using the destination address, for example, as a text message sent through the network to the account holder's mobile station.

  • Publication number: 20130071187
Abstract: Iceberg Reclamation industry invention provides an economical method of adapting offshore marine structures for arctic waters into fresh water production plants. The key condition of the invention is that icebergs are not towed or transported, instead the processing plant systematically breaks down icebergs and processes the ice pieces, melts the ice, and enables the transport of fresh water to arid climates and other areas in need of water reserves augmentation. The invention also claims that by decreasing the ice melt into oceans from icebergs this method acts as a sea level rise countermeasure. The method can also be used to clean oceans of floating debris and process the waste economically.

  • Patent number: 8260314
Abstract: A delivery period for delivering messages including a notification is determined. A location of a mobile station user is identified. A time zone difference between the location of the mobile station user and a location of a server for delivering the messages is calculated. The delivery period for the notification message is adjusted based on the time zone difference so that the mobile station user receives and confirms the messages at his or her best-acceptable time.

  • Publication number: 20090321025
Abstract: This invention relates to pulp reactivity enhancement. In particular, the invention relates to a method of producing an alkali cellulose which includes steps of providing a pulp and subjecting the pulp to an alkaline treatment to produce the alkali cellulose in the presence of a spacer capable of entering the holes in the interfibrillar spaces of the cellulose fibres. The spacer enters the holes in the interfibrillar spaces of the cellulose fibres, particularly those created by the removal of hemi-cellulose, reducing the tendency for collapse to occur, for example during the subsequent pressing step. Examples of suitable spacers are polyethylene glycols, polyvinyl alcohols and polyacrylates.
