  • Publication number: 20050054997
Abstract: An ostomy body fitment for attaching an ostomy pouch to a person's body comprises a shapeable adhesive pad, and a shape defining member. In a first annular fixed shape zone, the shapeable pad is supported and shaped by the shape defining member. In a second central reshapeable zone, a portion of the adhesive pad is unsupported by the shape defining member, and can be molded to fit an individual's stoma. A flexible flange for removable adhesive attachment to an ostomy pouch has an attachment zone outside the periphery of the shape defining member, to reduce direct application of external forces.

  • Publication number: 20050049670
Abstract: An integrated balloon catheter and self-expanding stent, and stent delivery system are provided for treating vascular diseases such as partially occluded blood vessels within the brain. The self-expanding stent is preferably mounted on an elongated core wire, is disposed within a delivery lumen of a balloon catheter and is held in a compressed state onto the elongated core wire by a pair of actuatable retaining rings. When the stent is properly positioned with a vessel, the actuatable retaining rings are activated to release the compressed stent to thereby permit the stent to expand within the vessel.

  • Publication number: 20050049668
Abstract: A self-expanding stent and stent delivery system are provided for treating vascular diseases such as partially occluded blood vessels within the brain. The self-expanding stent is preferably mounted on an elongated core wire including proximal, intermediate and distal cylindrical members disposed about the core wire. The proximal, intermediate, and distal cylindrical members are spaced apart such that first and second gaps are formed. The stent, which includes anchor members, is mounted on the intermediate cylindrical member such that the anchor members interlock within the gaps between the cylindrical members. The self-expanding stent and elongated core wire are disposed within a delivery lumen of a balloon catheter such that the balloon catheter compresses and constrains the stent about the intermediate cylindrical member to thereby interlock the stent onto the core wire.

  • Publication number: 20050040691
Abstract: A first and second dumping trailer set adapted to be pulled by a conventional truck or tractor giving truck drivers the flexibility to haul loads of bulk materials without committing to a standard dump truck. The trailer set comprises a first trailer with means for dumping its contents and a second tow vehicle which may be drawn into the first trailer and dumped therein leveraging the dumping structure and mechanisms of the first trailer. Preferably, the trailer set is jack-knifed for dumping such that loads from the first trailer are deposited generally to the side of the tow vehicle path. A winch or other driving mechanism may be used to draw the mobile dumping body of the tow vehicle into the bed of the first trailer after the tongue has been retracted to substantially close the gap between trailer and tow.

  • Publication number: 20050038496
Abstract: An expandable stent and delivery system is provided for enhancing luminal dilation of a blood vessel. The delivery system includes proximal, intermediate and distal cylindrical members disposed on and spaced apart along an elongated core member such that first and second gaps are formed. The expandable stent includes proximal and distal anchor members which align with the gaps. The expandable stent is mounted on the intermediate cylindrical member, and the anchor members are disposed within the gaps thereby locking the stent onto the core member.

  • Publication number: 20050033408
Abstract: A method and device used for treating an aneurysm or a vessel of a patient. An embolization element that is adapted to reduce or block the blood flow into the aneurysm or vessel, together with a stent connected to the embolization element, is provided. The embolization element includes an expandible member. The embolization element and the stent are introduced into the vessel leading to and communicating with the aneurysm or vessel. The embolization element is directed into the aneurysm or vessel, with the stent being located in another vessel communicating with the first vessel. In this manner, the stent becomes compressed against the inner wall of the second vessel for anchoring the embolization element. In one form of the invention, the stent comprises a helical coil and the embolization element comprises a collapsible framework.

  • Publication number: 20050033349
Abstract: A method and device used for treating an aneurysm of a patient. A framework for supporting one or more embolization elements is introduced into the patient's aneurysm. A stent, connected to the framework is introduced into a vessel leading into and communicating with the aneurysm, with the stent being compressed against the inner wall of the vessel for anchoring the framework. One or more embolization elements are introduced through the framework into the aneurysm, and in this manner the framework maintains the one or more embolization elements within the aneurysm. In the illustrative embodiment, the embolization element comprises an embolic coil, the stent comprises a helical coil, and the framework and helical coil are connected so as to be introduced into the patient simultaneously.
