  • Publication number: 20160293298
Abstract: A technique for manufacturing slickline with a jacket of enhanced bonding. The technique may include roughening an outer surface of a metal core and applying an initial insulating polymer layer to the roughened core in a non-compression manner such as by tubing extrusion. The insulated core may then be heated and run through a set of shaping rollers. Thus, the grip between the polymer and the underlying metal core may be enhanced at a time following the initial placement of the polymer on the core. In this manner, processing damage to the underlying core surface which might adversely affect maintaining the grip may be minimized. Other techniques such as powder spray delivery of the initial polymer layer may also be utilized in a similar manner.

  • Publication number: 20160232256
Abstract: A system and method for automatically creating a three-dimensional (3D) model for use in a design application, such as a transportation planning and design application that supports roadway, bridge or drainage design. A user at a client computer selects an area of interest (AOI) on a two-dimensional (2D) map, as well as one or more data sets to be used, and then submits a model creation request to a server computer. The server computer automatically aggregates one or more data sources to generate a 3D model of the area of interest. At least one of the data sources comprises a curated database. The server computer publishes or stores the 3D model into a database, for subsequent downloading to the client computer. The 3D model is a proprietary model owned by the user, and is fully editable by the user.

  • Patent number: 9378904
Abstract: Disclosed is a handle locking device, including a first frame, a first snap hook and a second frame. A second snap hook is provided on the first frame; the first snap hook is rotatably mounted on the first frame; the second frame is rotatably mounted on the first frame; a protruding portion is formed on the second frame; and the protruding portion can push the first snap hook towards the first frame. By having the first snap hook and second snap hook disposed asymmetrically on the first frame, accidental mounting of the “OFF” position of the handle locking device in the “ON” position of the circuit breaker during installation by an operator can be avoided. Moreover, since the protruding portion can push the first snap hook towards the first frame, forced deformation of the snap claw and second snap hook can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 9335353
Abstract: A system and method of measuring power consumption in an appliance is provided. An electrical characteristic of a power signal, such as a voltage component and/or a current component, can be detected at the appliance. The detected electrical characteristic can be processed using a signal processor. During signal processing, the detected electrical characteristic can be shifted based on a predetermined threshold and converted to a digital signal. An electrical characteristic offset can be determined based on an average electrical characteristic value of a plurality of detected electrical characteristics. The difference between the electrical characteristic offset value and an instantaneously detected electrical characteristic value can be used to determine power consumption of the appliance.
