Patent number: 9738200Abstract: An air cart for distributing air entrained particulate material from a chamber or tank to a plurality of distribution lines for application to an agricultural field has a tank refilling feature utilizing air flow from the cart distribution system or from a dedicated pneumatic source. The cart conveying system air flow is diverted and passed through an assembly containing multiple venturis which also receives particulate material from a supply source. The air entrained material from the source is conveyed to and gently deposited in the cart tank. Exhaust air from the tank may be directed back into the cart conveying system or vented through an air diffuser located beneath the cart. Exhaust air which is directed back to the cart conveying system may return to a location closely adjacent that from which it was originally diverted.Type: GrantFiled: June 11, 2014Date of Patent: August 22, 2017Assignee: CNH Industrial Canada, Ltd.Inventors: Martin J. Roberge, Graham Douglas Stuart, Ka Po Catherine Hui

Patent number: 9725254Abstract: A system for replenishing the supply of a particulate agricultural product in the tank of an air cart. A mixture of air and product comes out of a venturi delivery system and enters in a multiplicity of inlet hoses. Then the product enters into inlet tubes of various lengths and release angles from which product particles are gently spread strategically forming a pile that is more or less horizontal to ensure even feeding of meters during dispensing operations. Then the air exits through one or more fine screens to avoid product escaping as well and is conveyed through the exhaust hoses until reaching an air diffuser. The air diffuser has a series of varying size holes or louvers at the bottom so the air can come out at a uniform low velocity which minimizes any discomfort to nearby operators.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 2014Date of Patent: August 8, 2017Assignee: CNH Industrial Canada, Ltd.Inventors: Martin J. Roberge, Graham Douglas Stuart

Patent number: 9531838Abstract: Response delay associated with a state-based client-server application can be reduced with utilization of an application state server-side cache. A server caches data for a set of one or more possible states of a client-server application that may follow a current state of the application. The server rapidly responds to a client request with data that corresponds to an appropriate new state of the application in accordance with the application state server-side cache. The server determines that the application will transition to the appropriate new state from the current state of the application with the application state server-side cache based, at least in part, on an operation indicated by the client request.Type: GrantFiled: March 6, 2014Date of Patent: December 27, 2016Assignee: Versata Development Group, Inc.Inventors: Jude Arvind Britto, Rajasekhar Vinnakota, David Franke, Douglas Stuart Gray, Deepti Gupta

Patent number: 9385914Abstract: A client updates a display of a user interface associated with a state-based client-server application in accordance with a client-side cache. The server supplies data for a new state and additional data for one or more subsequent states that possibly follow the new state if appropriate one or more operations are performed. When a client request is generated that indicates an operation that causes the application to transition to the new state, the client updates the display in accordance with the data that corresponds to the new state from the client-side cache, if available from the client-side cache. The new state data is available since the server has previously supplied the new state data.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 2007Date of Patent: July 5, 2016Assignee: Versata Development Group, Inc.Inventors: Jude Arvind Britto, Rajasekhar Vinnakota, David Franke, Douglas Stuart Gray, Deepti Gupta

Patent number: 9154459Abstract: A network access manager controls access to a network interface according to a set of access control instructions specifying permissible and impermissible addresses and domains on a network. The network access manager establishes a graylist of addresses based on a domain request that is associated with a whitelisted domain that is accessed via a blacklisted address. When a request to establish a connection is received directed to a graylisted address, the connection is permitted to establish and the connection is added to a session graylist. When a session data transfer packet is received, if the session corresponds to a session on the session graylist, the session data transfer packet is examined to determine if it matches a whitelisted domain, in which case the session is associated with a session whitelist and permitted access to the network. The access control instructions may be automatically updated from a trusted access control management system.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 2013Date of Patent: October 6, 2015Assignee: Malwarebytes CorporationInventors: Douglas Stuart Swanson, Daniel Young, John Moore

Publication number: 20150232186Abstract: A de-icing system for a hemispherical protective housing mounted on an aircraft structure is described. The system can include a series of piezo-electric devices mounted at the boundary of the housing. The piezo-electric devices generate ultrasonic frequencies and resonance of the protective housing is induced. One of the piezo-electric devices senses the frequency generated in the protective housing and acts as part of a feedback loop to maintain structural resonance of the protective housing. The structural resonance of the protective housing prevents the build-up of ice. Additionally, higher power resonances can be generated to remove ice already built up on the protective housing. The system also enables detection of ice build-up on the protective housing by monitoring any change in the frequency required to maintain structural resonance of the protective housing.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 15, 2013Publication date: August 20, 2015Applicant: SELEX ES LTDInventors: John Ronald Maclean, Douglas Stuart Maguire, Jack Paterson, Steven Lawson

Patent number: 9077878Abstract: A camera module has an image sensor and a lens assembly that includes a lens barrel having a first cylindrical portion that includes an externally threaded portion and a second cylindrical portion that has a larger diameter than the externally threaded portion. A lens moving mechanism includes a movable sleeve having internal threads that receive the externally threaded portion of the lens assembly. The lens moving mechanism is coupled to the image sensor such that the second cylindrical portion of the lens assembly is closest to the image sensor. The camera module is assembled by inserting the lens assembly into the lens moving mechanism from the side closest to the image sensor. An installation tool engages the second cylindrical portion to rotate the lens assembly and engage the externally threaded portion of the lens assembly with an internally threaded portion of a movable sleeve in the lens moving mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: September 28, 2012Date of Patent: July 7, 2015Assignee: Apple Inc.Inventors: Douglas Stuart Brodie, Terence N. Patent number: 9058504Abstract: A self-protection application executes in kernel mode and manages access to processes and files related to an associated anti-malware application. The self-protection application monitors executing processes on the client device and detects the processes that are attempting to access files/processes related to the anti-malware software. These processes and files are verified by the self-protection application using digital signature authentication. Trusted processes such as those originating from the anti-malware software or other authorized programs are allowed access while other processes are restricted access.Type: GrantFiled: May 21, 2013Date of Patent: June 16, 2015Assignee: Malwarebytes CorporationInventors: Douglas Stuart Swanson, Richard Allan Winter
