  • Publication number: 20030078782
Abstract: The invention provides for a communications recording and analysis system including means for recording one or more communication streams, means for identifying the recorded stream, means for retrieving the content of said recordings by identifier tags, and wherein additional real-time information is inferred from analysis, in real-time or later, of keystrokes entered at a computer/terminal handling the interaction, and/or computer mouse actions, and/or internet traffic emanating from, or terminating at, any one or more of a number of computers/terminals handling the interaction, and/or the words and/or prosody spoken during the interaction is recorded. Furthermore graphical display means are provided such that the presentation of call flow recording is in the form of a direct graph showing the progress of the calls through the various states and transitions.

  • Publication number: 20020179214
Abstract: The present invention relates to preparation an article of manufacture, such as of a tire, via application of at least one partially pre-cured component. Tires are often prepared with pre-cured, pre-shaped components such as for example, application of pre-cured tread strips to a cured carcass as in the case of re-treaded tires. Thus precured tread and cured carcass are joined together using a cushion gum followed by heating the resulting assembly at an elevated temperature to cure the cushion gum. Such pre-cured component may also be, for example, a sidewall apex. In such cases, the pre-cured component is subjected to more heat than is necessary which may be detrimental for the component. This invention is directed to the use of a partially pre-cured component to prepare a tire assembly prior to the curing of the entire components of the tire assembly.

  • Publication number: 20020073982
Abstract: A method and apparatus for gas-dynamic cold spraying a liner 3 in a cylinder 2 of an aluminum engine block 1 is provided. The gas-dynamic cold spray liner 3 allows the aluminum engine block 1 to have a hardened cylinder surface 10 without the induction of residual hoop stress within the aluminum engine block 1.

  • Patent number: 6404857
Abstract: A signal monitoring apparatus and method involving devices for monitoring signals representing communications traffic, devices for identifying at least one predetermined parameter by analyzing the context of the at least one monitoring signal, a device for recording the occurrence of the identified parameter, a device for identifying the traffic stream associated with the identified parameter, a device for analyzing the recorded data relating to the occurrence, and a device, responsive to the analysis of the recorded data, for controlling the handling of communications traffic within the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 6376098
Abstract: A metal matrix composite includes a plurality of fibers having an average diameter of about eight micrometers with a coating, and a metal or alloy distributed with said fibers, a fibers-to-metal or alloy ratio has a range is has a range of about 9:1 to less than about 1:1.

  • Patent number: 6109506
Abstract: A method of enhancing a joint in a metal assembly. At least two metal members are joined together. Each member has a joining surface that mates with the other joining surface. The metal members are contacted against one another such that the joining surfaces mate. The mated joining surfaces are welded together at multiple locations. The welding process leaves a small gap between the metal members between these welding locations. Heat is applied to the joining surfaces adjacent to the gap. A solder is applied to the heated joining surfaces. The joining surfaces cause the solder to melt and to be wicked into the gap by the capillary force. The solder fills the length, width and thickness of the gap and joins the metal members together with a metallurgical bond. The entire joint including areas between the welding locations becomes joined.

  • Patent number: 6044882
Abstract: The invention relates to a rubber tire composed of carbon black reinforced rubber carcass and having a rubber tread which is quantitatively reinforced with silica and which, in turn, has a thin, integral, rubber outer cap on its outer surface which contains a quantitative amount of carbon black. In one aspect, said outer cap, sometimes referred to herein as an outer top cap, extends across the outer surface of the tread which is normally intended to be ground contacting and in an alternative aspect, the outer top cap extends only over the outer portion, namely the peripheral edges, of said tread surface intended to be ground contacting. The outer, carbon black reinforced, rubber tread top cap connects with at least one other carbon black reinforced rubber component of the tire in a manner to provide a path of reduced electrical resistance from said outer tread top cap to the bead portion of the tire carcass and, therefore, such a path from the vehicle to the road surface.
