  • Publication number: 20210242011
Abstract: Methods and systems for depositing vanadium and/or indium layers onto a surface of a substrate and structures and devices formed using the methods are disclosed. An exemplary method includes using a cyclical deposition process, depositing a vanadium and/or indium layer onto the surface of the substrate. The cyclical deposition process can include providing a vanadium and/or indium precursor to the reaction chamber and separately providing a reactant to the reaction chamber. The cyclical deposition process may desirably be a thermal cyclical deposition process. Exemplary structures can include field effect transistor structures, such as gate all around structures. The vanadium and/or indium layers can be used, for example, as barrier layers or liners, as work function layers, as dipole shifter layers, or the like.

  • Patent number: 11070155
Abstract: A method of determining angular position (?) of a rotor of an N-phase permanent magnet motor (PMM). A processor having an associated stored angular position determination (APD) algorithm is programmed to implement the algorithm to cause an associated motor controller to execute steps including forcing one vector at a time a phase vector set of current or voltage vectors to stator terminals of windings for the N-phases a positive and negative magnitude vector, wherein the vector magnitude is sufficiently small to not move the rotor, and a time duration for the forcing current or voltage vectors is essentially constant. The resulting stator current or voltage levels are measured for each current or voltage vector. An N-dimension current vector or voltage vector is generated from superposition of the resulting stator current levels or resulting stator voltage levels. The N-dimension current vector or voltage vector is used to determine angular position.

  • Publication number: 20210214846
Abstract: The present disclosure pertains to embodiments of a showerhead assembly which can be used to deposit semiconductor layers using processes such as atomic layer deposition (ALD). The showerhead assembly has a showerhead which has an increased thickness which advantageously decreases reactor chamber size and decreases cycling time. Decreased cycling time can improve throughput and decrease costs.

  • Publication number: 20210216889
Abstract: A set of machines can be deployed on a construction site or other worksite. The set of machines can include an intelligent machine and one or more standard machines. The intelligent machine can report location and activity data to an off-board computing system, while the standard machines can report location data to the off-board computing system. The off-board computing system can train a machine learning model based on the location and activity data from the intelligent machine, such that that the machine learning model can use location data about the standard machines to predict activities performed on the worksite by the standard machines.

  • Patent number: 11052310
Abstract: Various game controller hardware and user interface configurations are disclosed. Some configurations may comprise two circular trackpads, driven by the player's thumbs, which may be clickable, allowing the entire surface to act as a button. Haptic feedback may be based on dual linear resonant actuators (e.g., by means of strong, weighted electro-magnets attached to each of the dual trackpads), capable of delivering a wide range of force and vibration, allowing control over frequency, amplitude, and direction of movement. The haptics-related components in certain implementations may also play audio waveforms and thereby function as speakers. In the center of the controller according to certain configurations may be another touch-enabled surface, this one backed by a display screen. In some configurations this entire screen itself may also be clickable, like a large single button. A variety of other exemplary implementations and configurations are described.

  • Publication number: 20210191657
Abstract: Method and apparatus for managing data transfers. In some embodiments, first and second storage devices respectively include first and second controllers, first and second local memories, and first and second non-volatile memories (NVMs). A virtual controller memory buffer (CMB) is formed from a dedicated portion of each of the first and second local memories for control by a host device. The first controller receives a virtual command set from the host device, and extracts a first local command to transfer data between the host device and the first NVM. In some cases, the second controller also receives the virtual command set and concurrently extracts a different, second local command to transfer data between the host device and the second NVM. Alternatively, the first controller may extract and forward the second local command to the second controller. The first and second NVMs may form an NVMe (Non-Volatile Memory Express) namespace.

  • Publication number: 20210139043
Abstract: A system generates haptic feedback in an electric vehicle. The system comprises a frame, an energy storage device, and a wheel rotatably coupled to the frame. A motor receives power from the energy storage device and provides torque to the wheel. A controller determines a first operational state of the electric vehicle and transmits a first torque signal to the motor to control the motor to transmit first torque levels to the wheel to propel the electric vehicle. The controller determines a second operational state of the electric vehicle and transmits a second torque signal to the motor assembly. The motor assembly transmits second torque levels to the wheel to generate haptic feedback. The second torque signal is based on the second operational state of the electric vehicle and a torque profile stored in the memory, where the torque profile defines an irregular-shaped periodic waveform (e.g., a heartbeat rhythm).

  • Publication number: 20210129016
Abstract: A controller for an electronic system includes a tracking member fixed to a controller body. The controller body has a head that adjoins a handle at a neck region, and that includes at least one thumb-operated control. The controller includes a hand retainer that in a closed position is configured to physically bias the user's palm against an outer surface of the handle. The hand retainer includes a resilient member that biases the hand retainer towards an open position. • Patent number: 10998642
Abstract: A switchable dual polarization patch antenna with improved cross polarization isolation to concurrently radiate horizontally polarized signals and vertically polarized signals. A planar conductor is arranged with a first terminal and a second terminal that are vertically spaced on a portion of the planar conductor to radiate a component of a vertically polarized signal with zero degrees of phase shift from one of the two terminals and radiate another component of the vertically polarized signal having a 180 degrees of phase shift from the other of the two terminals. A hybrid coupler can provide the 180 degrees of phase shift. A horizontally polarized signal is radiated from a third terminal that is horizontally spaced on another portion of the planar conductor and coupled to a horizontally polarized signal source. The direction of the 180 phase shift for the first and second components of the vertically polarized signal may be selected.
