  • Patent number: 4010807
Abstract: A substantially cylindrical hole is drilled into a support structure, and the end of the hole remote from the point of entry of the drilling tool into the structure is enlarged in its cross-sectional area so as to provide abutment surfaces for spreading portions of a fastening element inserted into the hole subsequently to the drilling thereof. The drilling tool includes a drill shaft, and a drill bit connected to the free end of the drill shaft and having lateral cutting edges. The cutting edges may diverge in direction axially away from the drill shaft and a collar may be provided on the drill shaft which, in cooperation with the inner surface bounding the hole forms a fulcrum for a lever-type angular displacement of the drilling tool for increasing the cross-sectional area of the remote end of the hole.

  • Patent number: 4010774
Abstract: As the bottles go through the bottle washing machines the inside of each bottle is sprayed at various locations at each of which the bottle conveyor travels an arcuate path, the center of which is generally coincident with the center of the rotary spray pipe. The rotary spray pipe is provided with rows of aligned spray nozzles each of which lines up with the neck of a bottle in the conveyor as it passes over the spray area. A header surrounds the pipe at each nozzle location with a segment of the header removed to allow the nozzles to spray the adjacent bottles as the nozzles pass the cutout section. For the remainder of a revolution the nozzle is blanked off by the header. The bottles are always synchronized with the nozzles since the conveyor sprocket rotates with the spray pipe. A backflush pipe is fixed below and communicates with the header so water can be flushed through the nozzles in reverse direction for cleaning.

  • Patent number: 4010514
Abstract: The arrangement is used for continuously cleaning surface-sensitive paper or film in web form. The arrangement may be installed at any point along the path of web travel. The cleaning effect is provided by a ribbon of fibrous nonwoven material which is guided over a suction roller together with the web to be cleaned. The ribbon of fibrous nonwoven material moves in the opposite direction to the web. A highly satisfactory cleaning effect is obtained by the high relative speed between the surface to be cleaned and the web of nonwoven material. The particles of dust and dirt removed from the web are drawn into the suction roller under the effect of the vacuum.
