    Abstract: A shock-absorbing package includes a box and a base. The box is configurable to enclose an item and has a box bottom panel. The base has a base bottom panel and defines a recess sized to accommodate a portion of the box including the box bottom panel. The base interfaces with the box in a transport configuration so that the box bottom panel is held separated from the base bottom panel and a volume of air is disposed between the base bottom panel and the box bottom panel. An impact force applied to the base bottom panel generated by dropping the shock-absorbing package onto a surface induces relative movement between the box and the base that expels air from the volume air and decelerates the box at a rate less than a desired maximum deceleration rate.

The mobile device is connected to the channel and the code is provided to the mobile device. The code is entered at the desktop device and the desktop device is connected to the channel responsive to the code being validated, thereby linking the desktop and mobile devices.

The computing system might access, from a datastore, a plurality of network-based parsimony trees that are each generated based on measured network metrics, might compare the request-based parsimony tree with each of one or more network-based parsimony trees to determine a fitness score for each network-based parsimony tree, and might identify a best-fit network-based parsimony tree based on the fitness scores.

    Abstract: An apparatus and an associated method relates to a directionally polarized deceleration module (PDM) include a shuttle (125) fixedly coupled to a spring-biased spool (120) rotatable coupled to a module housing (115), a dynamic braking member (DBM) (130) and the shuttle (125) configured to travel inside a channel anchored to the module housing (115). A tether may be anchored on a proximal end to the spool (120). As the tether is retracted, the DBM (130) may be pushed by an angled distal-end of the shuttle (125). The DBM (130) may be forced between the angled distal-end of the shuttle (125) and an inner channel wall, providing motional resistance to the tether. As the tether is extracted, the DBM (130) may be pushed substantially normal to a proximal-end of the shuttle (125), providing minimal motional resistance to the tether. Various PDMs may decelerate safety lanyards in one direction to substantially avoid tangling and/or damage.

P-113 peptide is hypoallergenic and non-cytotoxic, which means it does not cause harms or allergies to the skin and can be used as an ingredient of cosmetic products. The P-113 peptide fragment has moisture absorption and moisture retention effects, therefore it can be formulated with other ingredients of moisturizing cosmetic products, enhancing the moisturizing effect of other moisturizing ingredients. In addition, the P-113 peptide fragment is capable of inhibiting the production of MMP-9 and thus decreases collagen degradation, thereby achieving the anti-wrinkle and anti-aging effects. The cosmetic disclosed herein comprises not only the peptide, but also active ingredients of cosmetic products and essence liquid formulations.

Shroudless impeller blades are purely radial and overhung from a thin peripheral ring attached to the annular magnetic rotor. A center post having a low aspect ratio extends through the annular rotor. The low aspect ratio is configured to prevent flow in the primary flow path from colliding directly with flow in the secondary flow path at the inner radial gap.
