  • Patent number: 7330450
Abstract: A device for determining network parameters may include one or more antennae and a processor. For example, the device may include multiple antennae so that direction information for one or more wireless network sources may be determined. Network parameters may include security information for the network, network name information, and/or other information. The processor included in the device may not be configured to transmit and receive information on an information communication connection with the wireless network source(s); for example, the device may be a stand-alone device separate from a user device (such as a personal computer) configured to transmit and receive information on an information communication connection with the wireless network source(s). In other embodiments, the device may be at least partially integrated with a user device (e.g., may have a separate processor but be included in a user device housing).

  • Publication number: 20070231141
Abstract: The present invention provides a turbine wheel with locally curved trailing edge blade tips on the blades of the turbine wheel. The locally curved trailing edge may increase the blade vibration mode natural frequency which may in turn result in longer blade fatigue lifetimes. It may also eliminate vortex shedding. Methods for increasing the blade vibration mode natural frequencies using the turbine wheel of the present invention are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20060221938
Abstract: A VoIP adapter module for a VoIP phone system switches the phone connection from a broadband connection to a wired connection when a power outage or a broadband disconnection is detected. The switch is accomplished by establishing a connection from a telephone connected to an RJ11 port on the module to a wired channel connected to a backup RJ11 port on the module. Detection for power outage is by comparing the device voltage with a reference voltage, and detection for broadband connection is by sending out a PING packet and waiting to see if a return packet is received.

  • Patent number: 7069399
Abstract: A method and related apparatus for reordering access requests used to access main memory of a data processing system. The method includes receiving one or more access requests for accessing the memory device in a first predetermined order, and reordering the access requests in a second predetermined order to be processed in a request queue by relocating a first access request to follow a second access request accessing a same memory page to increase processing efficiency. • Publication number: 20060094211
Abstract: A method of hydrogenating a poly-silicon layer is disclosed, which is used to improve characteristics of a thin film transistor (TFT) having a poly-silicon thin film. In the method, the poly-silicon layer is first subject to a plasma pre-process and then a hydrogenating process is undertaken thereon where a hydrogen-containing silicon-based compound is deposited over the poly-silicon layer having being pre-processed by the plasma and thermal treated. As such, the hydrogen atoms in the hydrogen-containing silicon-based compound may diffuse into the poly-silicon layer and the hydrogen atoms at a surface of the poly-silicon layer may further diffuse into where need to be filled to promote the hydrogenation effect of the poly-silicon layer, i.e., the hydrogenation may be completed in a shorter time.

  • Publication number: 20050195580
Abstract: An electronic card includes two shells juxtaposed to each other, and a frame mounted between the two shells. The frame has two sides each formed with a locking groove, and each of the two shells has two sides each formed with a locking hook detachably locked in the respective locking groove of the frame. Thus, the electronic card is manufactured easily, thereby greatly decreasing costs of fabrication of the electronic card. In addition, the user only needs to remove one of the two shells from the frame to expose the circuit board, thereby facilitating maintenance of the circuit board.

  • Patent number: 6911233
Abstract: A thin film deposition method using plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition is described. In a plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition chamber, plasma is used to enhance the chemical reaction to form a thin film on a substrate. The substrate is then removed, followed by passing a cleaning gas into the chamber to remove residues in the chamber. Before loading another batch of substrate in the chamber, a pre-deposition process is performed to isolate contaminants generated from the cleaning process. A discharge plasma treatment is then conducted to lower the amount of accumulated electrical charges.

  • Publication number: 20050120958
Abstract: A reactor functions according to a control process. The reactor comprises a first valve and a second valve, a control unit for preventing the first valve and the second valve from being turned on simultaneously, and a process chamber. A first gas and a second gas are inducted into the process chamber through the first valve and second valve, which are respectively turned on. The control process sets the second valve and the first valve so that each of them is turned on one interval after the other is turned off, and a flow rate of either the first gas or the second gas is zero.

  • Patent number: 6884155
Abstract: The present invention discloses a CMP pad dresser which has a plurality of uniformly spaced abrasive particles protruding therefrom. The abrasive particles are super hard materials, and are typically diamond, polycrystalline diamond (PCD), cubic boron nitride (cBN), or polycrystalline cubic boron nitride(PcBN). The abrasive particles are brazed to a substrate which may be then coated with an additional anti-corrosive layer. The anti-corrosive layer is usually a diamond or diamond-like carbon which is coated over the surface of the disk to prevent erosion of the brazing alloy by the chemical slurry used in conjunction with the CMP pad. This immunity to chemical attack allows the CMP pad dresser to dress the pad while it is polishing a workpiece. In addition to even spacing on the substrate, the abrasive particles extend for a uniform distance away from the substrate, allowing for even grooming or dressing of a CMP pad both in vertical and horizontal directions.
