Patent number: 8694250Abstract: Computer-implemented methods and apparatus are presented for processing data collected by at least two receivers from multiple satellites of multiple Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), where at least one GNSS is Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA). Data sets are obtained which comprise a first data set from a first receiver and a second data set from a second receiver. The first data set comprises a first FDMA data set and the second data set comprises a second FDMA data set. At least one of a code bias and a phase bias may exist between the first FDMA data set and the second FDMA data set. At least one receiver-type bias is determined, to be applied when the data sets are obtained from receivers of different types. The data sets are processed, based on the at least one receiver-type bias, to estimate carrier floating-point ambiguities. Carrier integer ambiguities are determined from the floating-point ambiguities.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 2009Date of Patent: April 8, 2014Assignee: Trimble Navigation LimitedInventors: Nicholas Talbot, Ulrich Vollath, Gang Lu

Publication number: 20140064165Abstract: In video conferencing over a radio network, the radio equipment is a major power consumer especially in cellular networks such as LTE. In order to reduce the radio power consumption in video conferencing, it is important to introduce an enough radio inactive time. Several types of data buffering and bundling can be employed within a reasonable range of latency that doesn't significantly disrupt the real-time nature of video conferencing. In addition, the data transmission can be synchronized to the data reception in a controlled manner, which can result in an even longer radio inactive time and thus take advantage of radio power saving modes such as LTE C-DRX.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 2, 2012Publication date: March 6, 2014Applicant: Apple Inc.Inventors: Chris Y. Publication number: 20140064160Abstract: Synchronizing uplink and downlink transmissions by a wireless user equipment (UE) device. A connection with a network may be established via a wireless link with a cell. The UE may operate in an active state during first periods of time in which uplink or downlink communications may be performed between the UE and the network. The UE may operate in a reduced-power state during second periods of time in which uplink and downlink communications are not performed. The first periods of time may alternate with the second periods of time in a repeating manner. Uplink data generated by the UE may be buffered during second periods of time and transmitted during first periods of time. Buffering uplink data in this manner may prevent the UE from immediately transitioning from the reduced-power state to the active state to transmit uplink data, which may conserve battery of the UE.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 5, 2012Publication date: March 6, 2014Inventors: Luciano M. Verger, Gang Lu, Hyeonkuk Jeong, Chris Y. Chung

Publication number: 20130215745Abstract: Dynamic buffer management for wireless communication systems facilitates enhanced throughput. The dynamic buffer management reduces buffer allocation for the current service period near the end of the current service period, and allocates the freed buffer space to one or more subsequent service periods before they begin. As a result, the host may begin to transfer data for those subsequent service periods in advance, so that data is immediately available to send when the subsequent service periods begin.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 16, 2012Publication date: August 22, 2013Applicant: Broadcom CorporationInventors: Srikanth Shubhakoti, Hyun-Gyu Jeon, Hongyu Xie, Gang Lu
