  • Patent number: 9871829
Abstract: A voice over Internet protocol communication system and method provides infrastructure components as intermediaries between networks, the components include multi-protocol session controllers and a multi-protocol signaling switch as well as a management system. The session controllers process calls and participate in the calls that flow through it. The session controllers process calls that are either at the edge of the network or at the core of the voice over Internet protocol network. The session controllers associate calls with one another in call peers for incoming calls as ingress call peers and for outgoing calls as egress call peers. A centralized database of call routing policies is provided to the session controllers. The session controllers provide cost management, topology hiding, and inter-working, or conversion, of calls from SIP networks to H.323 networks for both voice and video.

  • Patent number: 9871803
Abstract: Embodiments are directed towards a system and method for a cloud-based front end that may abstract and enable access to the underlying cloud-hosted elements and objects that may be part of a multi-tenant application, such as a search application. Search objects may be employed to access indexed objects. An amount of indexed data accessible to a user may be based on an index storage limit selected by the user, such that data that exceeds the index storage limit may continue to be indexed. Also, one or more projects can be elastically scaled for a user to provide resources that may meet the specific needs of each project.

  • Publication number: 20180014317
Abstract: A framework to manage coexistence of multiple technologies over multiple channels is desired. The apparatus may be a user equipment (UE). The UE detects whether a second technology different from a first communication technology utilized by the UE is active on a first channel. • Publication number: 20180014146
Abstract: An effective way for the cellular device-to-device communication and the short range communication to share a set of channels for communication is desired. The apparatus may be a user equipment (UE). The apparatus determines a priority level of each channel of a plurality of channels. The apparatus determines whether a first channel of the plurality of channels, the first channel having a highest priority level, is occupied by short range wireless communication. If the first channel is occupied by the short range wireless communication, the apparatus determines availability of one or more remaining channels of the plurality of channels for a cellular device-to-device (D2D) communication, where the one or more remaining channels are different from the first channel.

  • Patent number: 9866412
Abstract: A method for estimating performance of a serial communication channel using processing circuits. The channel is configured to transmit a binary input stream from a transmitting end to an output stream at a receiving end. The method includes modeling by the processing circuits the channel at the receiving end as a first finite impulse response (FIR) system. The modeling includes estimating a cursor pulse response of the first FIR system by analyzing the output stream received at the receiving end, and estimating one or more pre-cursor or post-cursor pulse responses of the first FIR system from the received output stream using the estimated cursor pulse response. The method further includes determining by the processing circuits a performance metric by using the estimated one or more pre-cursor or post-cursor pulse responses.

  • Publication number: 20180002252
Abstract: Disclosed is a process for recovering paraxylene in which a first simulated moving bed adsorption unit is used to produce two extract streams—one rich in paraxylene and a paraxylene-rich extract stream that is lean in ethylbenzene and an ethylbenzene-rich extract stream that is lean in paraxylene- and a paraxylene-depleted raffinate stream. A significant amount of the ethylbenzene is removed in the ethylbenzene-rich extract stream (at least enough to limit buildup in the isomerization loop), so the paraxylene-depleted raffinate stream may be isomerized in the liquid phase. Avoiding vapor phase isomerization saves energy and capital, as liquid phase isomerization requires less energy and capital than the vapor phase isomerization process due to the requirement of vaporizing the paraxylene-depleted stream and the use of hydrogen, which requires an energy and capital intensive hydrogen recycle loop.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are processes for recovering paraxylene in which a first simulated moving bed adsorption unit is used to produce a paraxylene-rich extract stream that also contains a significant amount of the ethylbenzene and a paraxylene-depleted raffinate stream. Because a significant amount of the ethylbenzene is removed in the paraxylene-rich extract stream (at least enough to limit buildup in the isomerization loop), the paraxylene-depleted raffinate stream may be isomerized in the liquid phase.
