  • Patent number: 9858124
Abstract: A stream management system may implement dynamic management of a data stream. Utilization data of different partitions of a data stream may be tracked. When routing a data record received at the stream management system, a partition may be dynamically identified for the data recorded. The data record may then be directed to the identified partition. Other management operations, such as repartitioning the data stream or reassigning resources for processing data records in the data stream may be performed based on the utilization data tracked for the partitions.

  • Patent number: 9858322
Abstract: A programmatic interface is implemented, enabling a client of a stream management service to select a data ingestion policy for a data stream. A client request selecting an at-least-once ingestion policy is received. In accordance with the at-least-once policy, a client may transmit an indication of a data record one or more times to the service until a positive acknowledgement is received. In response to receiving a plurality of transmissions indicating a particular data record, respective positive acknowledgements are sent to the client. Based on a persistence policy selected for the stream, copies of the data record are stored at one or more storage locations in response to one particular transmission of the plurality of transmissions.

  • Patent number: 9850186
Abstract: A process for producing paraxylene is provided. The process includes separating a first mixture of C8 aromatic hydrocarbons in a simulated moving bed apparatus using a desorbent to produce (i) an extract comprising ?50.0 wt % of the paraxylene in the first mixture; (ii) a desorbent-rich raffinate comprising ?75 wt % of the desorbent withdrawn, and (iii) an desorbent-lean raffinate comprising ?25 wt % of the desorbent withdrawn in the desorbent-rich and desorbent-lean raffinates. The desorbent-lean raffinate can then, without an intervening separation step, be passed to a refinery process or a vapor phase isomerization reaction to produce an effluent comprising paraxylene in a greater concentration than the desorbent-lean raffinate. The desorbent-rich raffinate can be passed to a liquid phase isomerization reaction to produce an effluent comprising paraxylene in a greater concentration than the desorbent-rich raffinate.

  • Publication number: 20170361117
Abstract: A charging system for an Implantable Medical Device (IMD) is disclosed having a charging coil and one or more sense coils preferably housed in a charging coil assembly coupled to an electronics module by a cable. The charging coil is preferably a wire winding, while the sense coils are preferably formed in one or more traces of a circuit board. One or more voltages induced on the one or more sense coils can be used to determine a phase angle between the voltage and a driving signal for the charging coil. The determined phase angle can then be used to determine the position of the charging coil relative to the IMD. Additionally, more than one parameter (phase angle, magnitude, resonant frequency) may be determined using the voltage may be used to determine position, including the radial offset and depth of the charging coil relative to the IMD.
